We arrived at the Royal Pacific Resort on June 3 at 8:30 AM.
From the moment we pulled into the parking lot my DW and I were amazed at the atmosphere. It is a very beautiful hotel. I love the feeling you get as you walk across the bridge into the lobby, the entire atmosphere of the water, plants and the soft music playing is very relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bellboy even took the time to write out directions to the nearest doctors office and hospital if the doctor was closed when I had to take my wife in for a severe allergic reaction she had to...something! Our guess is one of the many beautiful plants or trees growing on the property. (since she is allergic to pretty much every plant that is not make of wax or silk!) But she was okay after a very large shot in the "backside"!
I booked the entertainment rate and I also recieved my fruit and newspaper. We had a garden view room, third floor, tower 1 right off the lobby. It worked great for going to the car but kinda out of the way for the water taxi the pool was not to far away although we never did get to go swimming. Going by some of the other reviews I was expecting a very small "closet" size room, but I must say that the room is by no means tiny. But then again there was only two of us! The water taxi was nice but it was extremely slow, I think we always managed to get to the dock as the boat was leaving. After the first day we found it better for us (we needed the exercise anyway) to walk. The first time we walked to the parks we went down to the baot dock and walked all the way around that way on the way back to the hotel We found the path that lead to the hotel lobby saved a lot of time!
I do see what everyone means by saying the path goes out of the way though! The Express pass was wonderful! Although we did notice it works better on some rides than others. Dueling Dragons was perhaps the worst, first you are going up the exit and then the express line dumps right into the main line and you are a long ways from the loading area it really should let you go all the way to the area where you choice which side to go on. Ripsaw falls is another one that does not get you as close to the front on but the line does move pretty quickly. All the other rides and shows the pass worked really well. All in all I would have to say our stay was very enjoyable.

bbchurch,

I'm glad to hear you had a great time:Pinkbounc We will be there in July for 4 nights and I was wondering are there good places to eat that are priced reasonably:confused: We will have 2 teenagers and a 4 yo and a 6 yo with us will they enjoy RPH:confused:

There are alot of relatively inexpensive restaurants on International Drive (perkins, bahama breeze, olive garden is a bit further up I-drivebut there is pretty much every fast food chain somewhere around there) which is about a half-mile away if you have a car it is very easy to get to, but word of warning traffic can be bumper to bumper at times. Of course citywalk is just a short walk or boat ride away, but I don't know if I would classify some of those places as inexpensive, most plates are around 10-15 a person. (hard rock cafe is my personal favorite at citywalk)The hotel restaurants are definately upper price ranges. We never ate at one but I did see the menus, Islands Dining room looked to be abit more modestly priced, Jakes appeared to be more expensive and Tchoup Tchoup was in my opinion take a loan out expensive. (I don't like the thought of paying $25 or more per person to eat)
We also ventured out to the other side of Universal Orlando which is Vineland Ave and Kirkman road. There you will find several more fast food places, I saw a McDonald's and Burger King and I think there was a few more but I am not sure. If you have a car you are not too far from more affordable dining options but there is not any that I would say is withing walking distance. Sorry for the rampling but my brain is still trying to catch up with my body!
