Hi everyone

We've just got back from 7 days at the Royal Pacific Resort

Yep, we went all the way to Orlando and didn't go anywhere near Disney :scared1:

We are heading back to WDW in May next year so this trip was really a way of fitting in both the Universal Parks (especially Harry Potter), SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Shopping etc without eating in to precious 'Disney Time'

I have to say we had the most fantastic time and can't say enough good things about the Royal Pacific Resort

I had read some pretty bad reviews before we headed out so I was a little worried but we got a great deal on the room so I thought 'why not'

The staff at the hotel were just wonderful and couldn't do enough for us

We even had this left in the room as an apology for not being able to give us the view that I had requested on check in

It was great to be able to walk over to the parks so easily and we loved The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter

Even though we could get into the park at 8am as hotel guests, we still used the Virgin Holiday early entry on our first morning to enter the Harry Potter area at 7.15am

It was great to wander around a totally empty Hogsmead and we were first in line for the first show at Olivander's before walking straight on to Forbidden Journey :woohoo:

All in all it was a wonderful holiday

Counting down the days until WDW now

Welcome home, glad you had a great time.
We paid $150/night(+parking+net+tax) at RPR in August. Quite disappointed, basic room, furniture a bit tatty, chips out and worn. Pool water too warm & too busy(no sunbeds spare)
I definitely would only stay there again if the price was under $150 but others love the place and pay more.

Glad you enjoyed the RPR! We loved our week stay there in May and wouldn't consider going back to Orlando without staying there for a least part of our stay (most likely a week again)

Hi Linda, welcome home!

Glad you had a great time. Isn't Forbidden Journey fab? I loved it.

Thanks :goodvibes
We loved Forbidden Journey and thought that the whole area was fantastic
Butterbeer and Pumpkin Tarts are the ultimate sugar rush :yay:

Our room was great and really clean and well maintained
The hotel wasn't particularly busy so the pool was usually very quite and we loved spending our time swimming and sitting at the Bula Bar

I would stay there again in a flash - couldn't get over how nice the staff were and it was so cool just wandering over to the parks whenever we wanted to :thumbsup2

Couldnt agree more.
We too stayed there in May. Our pool room view was amazing, also included a view of the top of the new HP area. Also we were able to upgrade to Club Level for and extra £30.I have absolutly NO negatives about Royal Pacificat all, would definatley stay again :thumbsup2

We often go all the way to Orlando and don't go near Disney!
I am a big fan of the universal hotels. We love the RPH and PBH and have never had a bad time at any of them. The RPH is great as you can cut out the back way and walk to I-drive in about 10 minutes for dinner.

I had a really nice time at RPR in June, but I didn't feel the service was as good as Disney's. However this was the same week as Harry Potter was opening, so they were in quite an unusual position.

I would definitely go back again, but I couldn't not go to Disney!

I would love to try PBH at some point in the future
It really feels like I have taken some of the time pressure off our May 2011 WDW trip by spending this week doing Universal & Busch etc.
Counting down the days to Wilderness Lodge now :)
