Just came back tonight. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask away!

Hi there!

We'll be staying at POR next Thursday and Friday nights :earsboy: and I'm actually trying to find out specifics of building numbers. We had building 90, 85 and 80 all recommended to as as close to the food court as well as a bus stop. Are you familiar with these buildings at all? I'm trying to find a resort map with the building numbers noted on it, but no luck yet.

Also, do you know if that pianist that everyone raves about is still playing there at nights, and if so, do you know which nights?

Last question... is the WDW transportation to the parks as horrific as some posts make it seem (waits of 2+ hours)?

Edit: Oops... one more question. Did your room have a fridge in it, and was there any mention if this is available now in all rooms?

Hey Jewel, I'm not sure what the building number we stayed in, I believe it was 14 or 15, but it was called the Magnolia Terrace, it seems that wherever you stay at Riverside, that there will be some walking involved. But this was only a 2-3 minute walk. Also, the grounds are so beautiful it is a pleasure. We were there for a week, and the pianist was there almost every night it seemed. He was awesome! Everyone was having a great time. Also, I have no idea about 2 hour wait times, the most we waited was 12 minutes. I would say the average for any given park was 7- 10 minutes. I hope this helps you out, have a great trip! Stacey2grls

The link is to a good map of POR. Buildings 14 and 15 in AB are closest to the food court and main buildings and it looks like Oak Manor mansions are close too.

Have a great trip. We have requested building 14 in AB, non-smoking guaranteed (asthma) and connecting rooms guaranteed (families with small children).

Sorry, but yes there was a fridge in our room, but unfortunately no freezer!

Thanks for the advice... we're hoping to stay in the "Mansions" section for the theme, as long as we're not too far from any of the facilities. We have an 11-month-old we've never travelled with (he's only been with us for 4 months as we adopted him in January), so we mostly just want to be close to the bus stop and food court if things get harried.

We are going to be staying at POR in September and I'm just curious would you stay there again and what are your favorite features of this resort? Thanks

we loved POR so much last year that we've booked again for next year :Pinkbounc

it is such a beautiful resort. the quiet pool we used was so BIG and we thought it was great - I would post a photo of the pool but I don't know how :confused3

I would have to say I would definately stay at Port Orleans Riverside again. The resort itself is simply gorgeous. The smells of the flowers in the morning outside of your door is exquisite! The resort itself makes you feel so removed from everything else, with the bridges, gazebos, beautiful landscaping, the foodcourt is also great, alot to choose from. It was definately worth the money. Hope this helps.

First, thanks for offering to field questions! My DD8 and I are going to be at POFQ in August but I understand we can use both resorts' pools. Which do you think she'll like better? I am worried the water slide at FQ is a bit too tame for her. She won't complain but I hope I didn't make a mistake by booking FQ instead of Riverside. I went for the smaller resort just because we were at the POP last year and I found it to be too big and crowded for my liking. I wanted a quieter place to stay. The parks are busy enough!
Thanks! :flower:
