Hi,

We returned late last night from a 7n/8d trip to POR. We arrived at POR around 1pm on Sat. Nov. 19th. There was a short line for check in that was being manned by a cast member that was passing out folders that contained information about the resort, magic your way passes and emh along with a park times guide. The line moved quickly and we were checked in by a very nice CM named Jay that had no problem with being able to have the two rooms I had booked set up so that each room had a different credit card attached for room charging. Everything went smoothly and we were given rooms 3807 and 3806 in building number 38 of the AB section. There were seven of us in total as we were traveling with friends that have three children. We were able to get into our rooms right away.

We had one dinner and one breakfast at Boatwright's, the table service, eatery at POR. Both meals were good and the service for both was good.

The closest bus stop to our building was the North Depot. We had no issues with buses during our trip. All buses arrived within the 20min time frame and the vast majority within 15mins.

I called on our first day and requested that our rooms be done by 1pm everyday during our stay. I was told that my request would be noted and that they would do everything they could do have the rooms done by that time. We had no issues with housekeeping and we even got a Mickey shaped towal animal.

I noticed a couple of differances between what we received in our room at the AKL this past Jan and what we received in our room at POR.
1. Received lotion at AKL only bars of soap and shampoo at POR.
2. Had glass mugs for the coffee maker along with covers for take out style cups they provided at the AKL. At POR we only had the take out style cups. No covers no glass mugs.
3. The dial up internet connection was better at POR. I think there was an issue with either the number or the phoneline when we were at AKL this past Jan.

The kids used the main pool for a little each day and loved it. They also used the arcade and liked that.

The gift shop at POR is very large and a good varity of items to purchase.

The food court area was also very nice.

The grounds were well maintained and the CMs were all very nice. The "guys" did a fishing trip that left right from the POR marina which was very convienent.

If anyone has any questions ask away. I can say that my husband and I were very concerned about not liking POR very much due to us loving the AKL but we did come away saying that we would stay here again if we could not get an acceptable rate at the AKL or the S/D.

Overall a very enjoyable stay at POR.

Hi Tiffany,

Was POR decorated for the holiday's by the time you left? We left on the 20th and they only had the giftshop and pointsettia's in front. Last year by the 17th, everything was decorated at the resort.

Hi,

Yes, it was fully done big, beautiful tree in the lobby and all. It seemed like new things popped up all over the parks and resorts daily. This is truely a beautiful time of the year to visit.
