Just back from Por stayed in room 1541 in AB .. If you have any questions feel free to ask ..

We will be staying at POR April25-May1. I requested AB section (preferably bldg. 14 or 18)....how were the rooms? How did the buses run, were there long waits??

We are heading to POR on June 9th. I requested Bldg 14. Did you have a room request?
My son wants to know about the pools and the video game room (figures!). How was the food court and the busses? Did you take a boat to DTD?
We are really looking forward to our 4 nights in June!

Loops : Rooms were just redone . Everything inside is new including the beds they have a fridge in each room now. Buses we great they did a great job hardly waited at all for a bus and sat down everytime even leaving Mk right after wishes .

Catrin : I have stayed in room 1425 great room and view. WE requested bldg 14 15 or 18 and we got 15 . My kids love the pools main pool is big with a slide and water falls. Quiets poos are good sized and no life gaurds so my kids like that so they can jump and dive in . Video game room is nice and big with a good selection of games . Took the boat to dtd once this trip short wait both ways. Have a great time and if you have anyother questions or would like a couple pictures of the main pool just let me know...

What beverages could you get with the refillable mug? Slushies? I'd love to see any pics you can post. :)

I will post pictures tomorrow of our trip . As for drinks you could get coke products and tea, coffee no slushies have not have them at por since 2000.

Were you there back in 2000 or before? If so, I'd love to know how it has/hasn't changed. I'm going to stay at POR in November, for the first time since pre-9/11. I got bumped from there when they closed right after 9/11-haven't been back since. And I'd also love to see any pictures.

Did you see Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson?
YEHAAAAAAAAAAA! :cool1:

we are going to be at POR in December 05 does anyone know what size aero bed will fit in the rooms there

Macuser, you are such a bevy of Port Orleans info! Do you think it is a good idea to call a couple of days before you leave to request a certain building? Also, do they provide iron/ironing boards? You told me there is a safe in the bathroom, this may sound silly, but would you trust it to put cash in it? Also, how do you get the housekeeping to leave animal towels, do you leave cash everyday? How much? Thank you so much!

Simba's Mom : Our first stay there was in 2000 when it was still called dixie landings . It really has not changed at all we love this resort and stay here almost everytime we come. The rooms were just redone they added a fridge and a curtin to the bathroom area . Other than that is has stay the same. I will post pictures tomorrow .

MiJo: yes he is great

magic05: Twin bed fits fine

Stacey2grls : Yes i would call ahead even the day before or the morning of is fine always worked for me . I feel very safe with puting money in the safe and have used it evertime i have been there and never had a problem ..As far as towel animals you can try a note and a tip we do 1$ person per day . but it can be hit and miss you them

Thanks for the photos. They are terrific. I really can't wait to get back now!!! We also first stayed there when it was Dixie Landings, back in '99. Then again in '01. Dd and I will be back there, hopefully in AB on June 24-26 for the end of our trip.

I have to say that I'm so glad they finally added those curtains. Took long enough.

As for the other questions...
Yes, you can request an iron/ironing board. Mousekeeping will bring you one upon request.
We have used the safe in the past. Just be sure to bring the key with you. don't leave it sitting on the table!!
We have always left Mousekeeping $5 every day. We never had any towel animals at POR, ever!! Only place we got these was at AllStarMusic. Go figure.

Those of you going down and staying at POR, you are in for a terrific time. This is a great resort. Both sections of POR are wonderful in their own way. If you have your heart set on one of the mansions and you get put in the AB don't worry. You may come away loving the AB more than the Mansion section. I've stayed in both and love them both, but AB a little more so.

And about the room/bldg requests...go ahead and make your requests. Whether or not they pay any attention to them is open to speculation. I have stayed in bldg 35, which is waaaay out to the rear of the resort. But, our bus stop was a 2-3 minute walk from the room. The food court/main bldg was an 8 minute walk and very peaceful at that!!! So, don't obsess too much.

We have booked POR for our upcoming trip in September and have never stayed anywhere but Pop, so we are really excited about staying moderate. We have paid for a waterview room and requested AB bldg 14, so I'm wondering is there a view of the river there or is the waterview probably a pool area?

It would be a river view there is no pool close enough for a pool view ...

We head over to PORS on Friday. I called today and requested a 1st floor non smoking room in AB, perferably bld 14. I said this because we said there back when it was DL and we thought it was a good location.

Later I looked at a map and I noticed there doesn't seem to be parking near by, we never had a car in past trips, but will this time since we are going over to VB for part of the stay. How far is parking from there?

Thanks, glad you had a good trip. I hope ours is too.
