Day 3: Epcot
We headed straight for Soarin. I had heard stories about how long the wait would be. We talked with CM's about doing a child swap (DD-3 too small for ride) and I walked on with other two children. It was the most incredibly beautiful ride. It was then DH turn to ride. We then headed for the land boat ride. That was just as cool as I remembered it. Then it was time for Honey I shrunk the audience and figment. I remembered Figment being dumb years ago. Maybe he was refurbished of maybe my perspective changed now that I'm a parent of 3 children. Anyway, the kids enjoyed it. I gave DH a chance to ride Mission Space and Test track while I entertained the kids with all the hands on acitvities in future world. They really liked making paper. It was then time to grab a bite to eat. We headed for Tangiriene at Morroco. We had table service there years ago and really enjoyed it. There was no line. I guess some are afraid to try new things. It was just wonderful. If we had hoppers we would have come to Epcot for all our meals. In fact our anniversary is coming up in Dec. Maybe we'll do just that! After lunch and quick hello to Jasmine we decide it's time to head back for our afternoon swim and rest.We opted for the boat ride back to future world. Our dinner res. at Teppanyaki's were for 5:30. It was a very good meal. I don't remember the tables being so small and cramped together. Our 3 year old was in a high chair on the corner so that made it even more cramped. Everyone enjoyed the food and was anxious to head back to pool for a night swim. I took our DD-10 back for extra magic hours. We got there just in time for illuminations but she wanted to head straight for Soarin. We ended up riding it twice! We then headed over to Mexico and Norway for the boat rides. She really liked Norway and wanted to do it again. But, it was getting late so we decided to grab some popcorn and a drink and head for Spaceship Earth. She thought it a little strange, but okay. It was a great day. One of these days my DH and I are going to spend an entire day going through the World Showcase.
Day 4: Animal Kingdom
This was our first trip to animal kingdom. About a week before our trip we added another night stay just so we would be able to do this park. I am so glad we did. Our oldest children really enjoyed this park. Our DD-3 loved the animals. We decided to do It's tough to be a bug first--big mistake. Our two youngest cried and were very frightened through the entire thing. We have the movie, and I thought I prepared DS-6 about everything being pretend, but it just didn't go over well. DH and I thought it was really cute. Oh well, it was off to Dinoland. The oldest two loved Triceratop. They rode it over and over and over......I lost count of how many times. We then somehow talked them into riding Primeval Whirl. I didn't realize there were a couple dips! Well, they rode it with DH and LOVED IT
YEAH!!!! I had to ride with them and then DH rode again. By the way, everything was walk on. We then got them over to Dinosaur. DD loved it but DS did not. Should have done a child swap but didn't, so I didn't ride this one. We went over to Asia. Got a look at Everest. Looks like it will be great!! Had to hit the Kali River Rapids. It was getting very hot and we needed to cool off. We did the child swap. DD-3 didn't want to ride anything this day.
It was definately time for lunch so we stopped by Tusker House. I had heard it had wonderful food, but nothing looked appealing to the children. We headed over the Pizza place. The pizza was definately better than Pizza Planet. Sandwich was pretty good. We then went over to the Safari. It was good. Didn't get to see a whole lot of animals since it was afternoon and so hot. We were hot and exhausted so we went back to the room to swim and rest. I know we didn't get to see everything, but 4 park days in a row gets a little taxing!!!We had dinner at Spoodles and then headed for Downtown Disney. We planned to have an early night but our bus driver got lost and circled through Port Orleans Riverside a couple of times before we made it to the French Quarter and then to Downtown.
Friday night was crazy. We had originally planned to shop on our first night and I wish we would have done it. Tried to go to the choc. shop but the line was out the door. It was almost hard to enjoy because of the crowds. We did take DS to Lego store and the girls to world of disney for shopping. Didn't stay long. Got some popcorn and water and took the boat back to POR.
Day 5: Magic Kingdom
The kids loved this so much that this was their choice for a do over. Almost immediately we noticed the crowds were heavier than on Wed. We still did everything we wanted. Our DD-10 even went on space mountain and splash mountain. We got distracted and forgot the tme. We hit Cosmic Rays around 12:30. BAD timing. Oh well!!! It didn't take long for us to realize it was time to head back to POR. We had dinner res. at Concourse at 6:00. Dinner was good but service slow. It was nearly 8:00 by the time we got back in the park. No extra hours meant that everyone had to pick 1 or 2 favorites to return to. We were able to do just about everything. Our van was parked at CR, so we planned to catch monorail back to CR and then drive to POR. This worked great on Wed. when we had dinner at POLY. Not a good idea tonight
We decided to just walk to CR.
Day6: Swimming At POR and packing up
We're all ready for our own beds and rooms but it is sad to say goodbye. Our trip was absolutely wonderful. DH said it was the best vacation he's ever been on. First, I thank God that he blessed us so that we were able to take this wonderful vacation and then I thank so many of you that take time to write about your experiences. Although everyone's likes and dislikes varies it helps to share opinions and experiences. Here's to all of you planning and counting down as we did. May you be blessed and have a truly wonderful vacation.
Things learned:
Disney transportation is great, but be careful when planning on specific times.
Schedule a water park day or swim day at resort after 2 or 3 park days.
Go for the rooms with queen size beds
Do downtown disney during the week--NOT WEEKENDS!!!
Be sure to catch Beauty and Beast Show-MGM
Be sure to catch Lion King show-AK
Try to schedule TS for lunch so there's more flexibility when returning to park
