:cool1: Our first family tripto the world in 10 years. Our first day we checked in and got settled in our room: Alligator Bayou 1564. Beds a little small but we made it work. We headed right over to GF for dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare. Our children DD-10, DS-6, DD-3 had a great time. Food was good and the characters really took time with all the children. DH was very thankful for the free dining plan when he saw the total was $163.00. After a spin on the monorail, we headed back to our room to get a good nights rest for next days adventures.

Day 1: MGM
This is a special park to us since we worked here during college.(many years ago) It was fun to take the children on GMR and show them where Mommy and Daddy used to work. DD-10 loved Star Tours. She rode it several times. DD-6 loved the voyage of the little mermaid. DS-6 really enjoyed Indy, lights, motors, action! We had a so-so lunch at Pizza Planet and a good dinner at Sci-Fi. The cars were really cool! The onion rings and spinach artichoke dip were a hit. Eveyone enjoyed the milkshakes. Fantasmic was a little too dark for our DD-3 and DS-6. It was walk-on for all the rides and shows. We left in the afternoon when it started to get crowded. Took in the slide at POR. It didn't look like much, but once I went on it I was hooked. I had just as much fun as the children.

Day 2: MK
Wow! I had tears in my eyes as I watced my children's faces light up! They've wanted to go to Disney for so long. It was a dream come true! We headed right for Fantasyland. We rode everything in less than an hour and a half. It was off to Tomorroland to hit the cars and Buzz. After a quick lunch at Cosmic Rays and finishing Tomorroland we decide to head back to POR for a swim and rest. We had dinner at Ohana's. It was the first day of a new menu. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the CM's. As soon as we stepped on property we were greeted with Aloha. Our waiter offered all of us non-alcoholic daquiris as part of our dining plan. The children really enjoyed this. The food was quite good and there was plenty of it. We had a perfect view of the castle during dinner. It was just lovely. We went back to the park and spent the evening climbing in the treehouse, doing the jungle cruise and trying out those magic carpets. DD-10 and DS-6 wanted to do the haunted mansion, but I knew this would be too much for DD-3. So while DH took them to hanted mansion DD-3 and I watched Spectro. She absolutely loved it! We headed back to Pirates and then back to Fantasyland for some favorites. We got a good seat for Wishes. We planned to enjoy the EMH but the lines were so long ( we didn't stand in any lines in AM) we decided to head back to POR.

Getting late so I'll need to finish tomorrow :Pinkbounc :moped:

sounds like the start of your trip was great. I love seeing wdw thru a childs face it makes it all so special again.

Love pool slides so glad to hear POR slide is cool - is it the one in the FQ side that looks like two dragons?, Or is there also a slide on the "Riverside" portion of the resort. Will be there in 31 days can't wait to try out the slide.

Everyones report states that the parks are pretty desserted this month - may have to try this time of year.

look forward to the rest of your report

We never made it to the French Quarter pool. We did take the boat back from Downtown Disney and got a quick peek at the pool. It looked cool, but it was hard to tell from where we were. We used 'Ol Man Island pool at Riverside. From the looks of it it didn't look like much. Our oldest children loved it so much they got me to try it. It was really great. A hint from my children...lay back while going down the slide and you'll go much faster :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
