Requested connecting King-Dbl bed preferred rooms for our August trip. How happy we were to be in the reconditioned 60's building, facing away from the pool with connecting King-Dbl as "guaranteed" in our reservations. Could it be luck? Could it be a reservation with 2 adults and 2 kids..dunno, but it was just what we ordered.
We placed a towel on the door threshold each nite before closing the connecting doors(as suggested on The Dis) and never heard a peep from the kids & they never heard us in our room.
We did hear quite a lot of water/pipe sounds until about 1 AM each morning, but we were so tired from a day at the parks that it was only a minor nuisance. Closing the bathroom door made no difference in the noise. We didnt hear this type of sound at ASMu FS last year and the room designs are identical.
