Just back from Pop last night

Had a great first trip. We enjoyed Pop very much. Double beds not bad with 3 people, older son didn't get to go after all. Rooms fine. My son did break out on the back of his legs with some kind of rash and mentioned it to someone at Pop. Told me to let first aid look at it at the parks which I did. She just said it was some kind of rash but couldn't say exactly what it was. She gave him some Calaclear to put on it which didn't help. Now that we are at home it seems to have gotten better since last night but just gonna give it a few days to clear up. No bed bugs that we could see. Pools were great. Everyday someone would either puke or poop in the pools though. We loved the resort. They only change sheets every 4 days unless you ask for them to be done earlier. We went to all 4 parks and didn't have to do the touring plans as most rides were 20 minutes or less and that was including the coasters. Have to say that May is a good time to go. I didn't really think any of the parks were that packed except for AK which seemed a little crowded. Smoke going down from TN to Fla was a little thick in Lake City but coming home was clear until you get to GA and then it was just a little smoky. Any questions just ask.

I don't know if it's relevant ot not, but I broke out in March when we went and stayed at SOG, and I think it was from the sheets. The only detergent that doesn't make me break out is tide.

back to the POP issues, I stayed there for 7 days and we never had a problem with the hotel or the service there. I did ask for the sheets to be washed every two days. and they were because i checked and left the staff tips. we had a great time and cant wait to go back in AUG 07

I don't think it was the detergent because we hadn't even gone to bed before he starting breaking out. I was thinking maybe something in the carpet that they clean it with or maybe the chlorine in the pools because we had just gone to the room, unpacked and went down to the pool. That evening before bed I noticed the rash.

Oh yeah, we stayed in 50's section and building 1 and 4th floor. Wished we had gotten ground floor but had asked for 4th floor. Still close to food court, though. We walked to the back of the resort by the lake and could see some of the fireworks from the parks at 9 pm. Lots of ducks and rabbits on property. Didn't see any snakes or gators. LOL. Thank goodness. My son loved Pop and so did we. Buses were okay. We only rode to MK and AK. Drove to Epcot and MGM. Driving was easier for us as I didn't like having to stand on the bus.

Puke and Poop in the pool????? Gross!! How did they get all that cleaned up? That just grosses me out so much. We will be there in Jan, but Im figuring we wont be swimming much. We stayed at POP in 2005 and enjoyed it very much. Glad you had a great time.

We stayed in the 50s section, building 1, 4th floor, pool side. You could see some of the fireworks from our room and hear the loud bangs but could see better behind the buildings facing the lake.

They just use a screen to clean the pool and I guess put more chlorine in. When the puke was in there they were not telling everyone to get out but when the poop was in there then they said the pool was closed but about an hour later it was opened back up.

They give plenty of soap and shampoo. Beds were great. Noise was minimal until our last night when the people in the next room were going in and out all night long and banging the door on the stopper each time they came in and out. Got towel animals 4 times during our 7 day stay. Everyone was friendly that worked there. Check in time about 5 minutes. Really was not packed in my opinion. Showers had a lot of hot water, never ran out. Also had good shower pressure to get soap out of my thick hair.

My BIl got the same kind of rash on his legs, we stayed at POFQ. I don't think it is the resorts it is the parks. They use crushed glass in the sidewalks and the reflection, mixed with the heat and humidity does weird things to your skin on your legs especially. We make sure and use lots of sunscreen on our legs and bug repellent at night. We have seen lots of people in the parks with the 'rash' and sometimes sores too...strange stuff!

Don't ya love the door banging on the door stopper? We had a family doing that next to us at CSR last year. ANNOYING and LOUD!

I don't think the rash is from the parks as we had only been to the room to unload luggage and then to the pool to swim. Noticed the rash before we even got to the parks.

Hello and welcome back! So glad you liked POP! We will be going for the first time in September! Quick question: Is the soap you use to wash your hands bar soap or liquid soap? If it's bar soap I was thinking of bringing some liquid soap of my own because the bar stuff gets messy, especially with a 4 and 1 year old! How was the food court? TIA!

I believe your DS has a case of heat rash. It happened to DH last year. It was all better within a few days with the help of "Gold-bond" medicated lotion and powder.

I may be dumb for saying this, but I read a lot about people stating that the sheets are not changed on the beds every day or every couple of days. Am I bad, I do not change my sheets at home every day or two. Should I be requesting this in the room on my next stay? Just curious, thanks!
