Just back from POP!! GREAT and got a DREAMS reward!!

Hello,

We just got back from WDW and stayed at the POP and it was great! We were upgraded to the 60's on the water front side so it was nice and peaceful at night. The pool side has a lot of noise, even at midnight. I am more of a light sleeper so the room for us was GREAT!!
The walk was nice and not to far and the room was smaller then use to at the DLX resorts but for us not being in the room very much due to being at the Parks is great and also I think kid friendly. Mouse keeping was great and just as good as staying at a DLX also.
POP I think is great for the money and to also be able to be on site. The bus was ok but a few times we hit where a new guy was being trained so those times took longer then normal, but that is ok.
Our kids really liked it also. So I think we would for sure stay again. But after seeing how long the walk could be for the buildings away from the 60s's. I would really like to stay in the same area we were in this time. It would be worth the extra money a night to stay.
We were also very lucky our 1st day and ended up getting a dream day for much of the day getting to go on any ride, little treats and toys bought for the kids, no waiting for photo ops, it was SO GREAT!!! And getting the special photos and certificate about was just so Cool to get!!!!
Never thought we would be so lucky!! But we were!!!
Can't wait to go back again!!!

Glad you enjoyed your Pop visit. My DH, DS8 and myself stayed at Pop also this past February for the first time. WE LOVED IT ALSO! Can't wait to go back next February. We were in the 70's section and a short walk to classic hall and the food court. We were park comandos so although its great to stay at a mod or deluxe room, we really liked the Pop. Sounds like you had a wonderful first day. Lucky you. Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us.

Wow, that sounds so great- A Dream Day. I would love to get that or any Dream Reward!! I cant wait for our trip in Jan and we are staying at POP too! I cant wait!!!

the food court at pop is abit crazy at normal meal times. it's like that at all the value resorts.

Yes, the food court was busy but we were always able to find set even for the 6 of us. We would wait in a line of about 5-10 people usually ahead, that seemed to be the norm.LOL But still you could get your food, pay and eat in about 1/2 an hour to an hour depending on how long it takes you to eat.

Food I think was good as food courts go.

We didn't go to food court until about 9:00am everyday and just seemed busy all of the time. I am pretty sure the hotel was fully booked or at least it seemed that way to me. So I guess for being so fully booked it wasn't that bad.
The only thing that would bother us is: Everyone would be in line waiting and then you would still have people wait until they were asked what they wanted and would say " Let me think for a sec? "??? Like they didn't have the time waiting in line to think about it then? Its not brain surgery and not that many choices.LOL And those people like that would then make things be a little slower, but what can you do about it.LOL

Did you use the bus transportation? One of my concerns is having to spend too much time waiting for buses to and from the parks. We have stayed in moderates in the past, but I was thinking with the money saved, we could almost do a second trip! We really are park commandos as well, we don't use many of the features at the actual resort...

We had also stayed at the Cont. hotel which you can walk to MK but we still took the mon-rail. And taking the Mon-rail still takes time.
We took the bus everyday from the POP and back to the POP and MK was the furtherest. I would say from time on bus to the park off the bus was about 20min. I think Disney says 12-16 min but that is not counting time getting on the bus or off.
Coming back from MK, we only had to wait for one bus load. So I think the bus time is pretty good over all.
We also stayed at AKL and I would say the bus time is like it, so if you like to go to all the parks like we do then staying at the POP will be ok.
IF you like to stay and really just go to MK, then maybe then staying at one of the 3 by MK would be better.

We were at MK and getting off a ride and were told that we would be taking to whatever ride we wanted, etc. It was really great but also felt a little odd also. If you when a prize like ours you will also get a certificate that says you won a Dream - which we will frame.LOL
I was told that some people when asked if they want to win a dream, just keep walking?? FOOLS!! Can you believe that!!

We didn't ask for one, when we found out after checking in.
But it doesn't hurt to ask!!
