Just got back from our first "summer" trip. We stayed at the POP century resort and loved everything about it except for the buses. We almost always waited 30-45 minutes for a bus. One night at the Magic Kingdom, there were around 1000 people waiting at the POPs bus pickup while all of the other resorts were pratically empty. We waited that night on four buses (packed to the hilt) before we finally were able to board the 5th one.
The first few days of the trip were very pleasant. Weather was in the low 80s with a breeze from Hurricane Dennis. It rained, which must have prevented alot of people from visting the parks. They were practically empty. We rode everything at all four parks within 3 days. So, it was eitther the hurricane or Tour Guide Mike's advice, but we just did not see the crowds (during the first few days). I have been in October and thought it more crowded than our first few days in July.
As the week progressed, it became unbearably HOT and HUMID. It was so humid that I found myself struggling to breath. The heat was so intense that we had to leave the parks by 11 AM and not return until 5 or later. This was OK with us since we had already rode everything in the first few "hurricane" days.
I have been twice in October and this was our first time in July. This trip turned out to be the best one I have had, but I would not go again in July. I would take my kids out of school ot avoid the intense heat. We are from Alabama and experiance basically the same humidity and heat, but something about trying to walk on black pavement and try to enjpy rides does not mix in the heat. We were blessed this trip with several cloudy/rainy days and that is when we had the best time.
I am a firm believer in Tour Guide Mikes advice, I believe his tips and the coudy weather made this a great trip for us.
Please ask any questions....

We leave in a few days and I am "mentally" getting myself ready for the heat!
