just back from poly

I was so glad to see your post. I am researching for a trip this October and came across this site. The Poly was one of 2 resorts I was considering.

Thanks!

I am glad I found this thread. I booked the poly for 8 nights in early October, this will be the first time staying there for us, but we have eaten at Kona, and checked out the resort and already like the atmosphere so we are excited about that. I was wondering though, exactly how the room is set up...When I booked the room they told me it would accomodate 5, I only need 4 but I am just curious what is in it and how it is all set up, is there a fridge, coffee maker and microwave?? I know that if there is not a fridge one can be requested for a fee, but what about the coffee maker and microwave, can you bring those from home, or request those as well?? Also, can you request a specific building to be in?? One more thing, we have a garden view, what exactly will be looking at and do all of the rooms have a balcony??
Thanks
Kim

Our first trip to DW was at the Poly too! I, like you got hooked at what was suppose to be a one and only trip. We also did the 3 day cruise and had my son, his wife and 3 kids. I paid for all and now want to go back so bad!! We have had other Disney trips too but this year no trip at all so I'm hoping by next year I can get the money saved again for a Poly trip for all 7 of us!! After that my grandson will be in college so our trips for all our family will be a thing of the past!!

In ten years of being WDW-addicts, we've stayed at all of the deluxe resorts except for the WL and the Poly. Week before last my DH made a surprise res for the Poly for a "Mickey Quickie" in July. We'll only be staying 4 nights. I hope we love it as much as everyone on this thread seems to.

Glad you went for the lagoon view. I spend little time in my room but it is always something that we look forward to going back to the room so we can peek out the door at the lagoon and what ever is going on around the lagoon.

Aloha

Steve

The only time I've stayed at the Polynesian, I split a concierge room with a couple of friends in 2002. We opted to save money with a garden view, as we had an awesome lagoon view from the concierge lounge. :goodvibes

And your website was extremely helpful and informative.

Now, if only DVC would build a resort there...

I'm staying at the BC early next year and now I'm wondering if I should change to the Poly? I hear so many positive things about the Poly! Then again I would love to be in walking distance from Epcot. It is confusing with so many wonderful resorts to choose from! :confused3

Our first time at the poly!! WOW!!! We stayed in the Tahiti longhouse w/ a lagoon view room, room 3030, Our view was INCREDIBLE! . . .we thought it was going to be a one time vacation --- we're hooked!!!

No complaining--you were warned! :cheer2: :flower:

I'm glad to hear you had a super time. Now you understand our devotion and, sad to say, you've also been bitten by the Polynesian bug. Personally, I think it's something they put into the tiki torches or flowers that seduces you to return again and again! :wizard:

BTW, I totally agree with you about Coral Reef. We have only dined there on one occasion and never returned--wasn't horrid, we just didn't care for anything and our server was nasty--condescending and rude.

So looking forward to our return soon! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I'm so glad you enjoyed the Polynesian! We were supposed to stay Polynesian Lagoon view this October but 2 family wedding popped up for the end of September and middle of October (one of them my brother's and one a travel wedding) so we had to postpone WDW/Polynesian    .

Welcome to the Poly family 1st Timer, once you catch the fever, there's no going back. I can't stay anywhere else when in WDW, in fact I wouldn't go if I couldn't. Glad you had a great trip. Me, I've got 5 1/2 months to go, ugh.
