I know there are several posts with about recent stays at the Poly. Let me know if you have any questions regarding ours.

We arrived May 28th-June 4th. We received all of our requests. Samoa building, non smoking, connecting rooms, 3rd floor, crib, microwave and frig(for free due to my baby's formula). We had to remind them of the crib and we didn't request the microwave and frig until we checked it. They all arrived promptly after we requested it.

Location! We had a 3rd floor room facing the Volcano pool! We absolutely loved our view! I would consider it lagoon view without a view of the castle. We have a clear view of the Grand Floridian. It was a little loud in the afternoon when I was putting my children down for naps but I wouldn't have requested a room change for anything! It was a perfect location to everything!

The only negative I can say about our trip was it was too HOT HOT HOT!! Even though we went to the parks everyday either in the morning or evening it was unbearable at times. Plus, I will NEVER go over a holiday weekend again...

Oh one last negative! We never received any towel animals.. and mousekeeping was just OK... not great and not bad just OK.. and why don't the sheets stay on the bed? Very annoying!

Glad you had a great time......I agree, it was TOO HOT over the weekend (we even left BB early because we were roasting!). Can't imagine what it would be like in July

I'm so glad you had a great time! Sounds like the location was perfect for you! I was actually thinking about you last week...how did your grandmother's pool sitting go? Hopefully she enjoyed watching the kids at the pool...isn't it awesome?

Welcome back!

I'm soooo glad you enjoyed your trip...I remember your dilemma about where to stay and hope the Poly lived up to your expectations!:sunny:

Partyof5, My grandmother did come to visit us and unfortunately it was too HOT for her to sit out by the pool. We just had dinner at Ohana's (Excellent, best meal we had all week) and lounged around inside. Thanks for asking.

iloveeyore, Yes Poly did live up to my expectations! I cannot wait to stay there again! It's going to be hard trying any other resorts after staying there. My 2.5 year old LOVED the monorail rides. It was the highlight of his trip! As long as my children are young I can't imagine staying anywhere else...

Catnik, all my wonderfully laid plans were shot after we realized how HOT it was.... We were suppose to go to a water park but I didn't want my 6 month old out in the sun like that all day... I guess I will have to go again to make up for it! :sunny:

Glad the Poly made a believer out of you. We love the poly too and samoa is our favorite longhouse. We had 1602 ground floor volcano and I agree with you.. perfect location. Time to start planning your next trip.:D

I'm already thinking about planning another.... but it won't be for sometime. Probably Oct-2005.... Oh only 18 months to plan. I better get on the ball! :teeth:

Like you we changed LOTS of plans when we saw how hot is was.....my youngest is 9 months and even tho we kept him well hydrated I still didn't want to take a chance and roast him too much. We spent more time at the resort than the parks because of the heat; definitely not a hardship as it is such a beautiful/relaxing place to hang out. Plus, all the things we did not get to this time gives me a reason to go again soon :D

Catnik, I probably saw you there! I was surprised to see how many people had babies there. I thought I was going to be the oddball and have everyone look at me like I am terrible mother! :p My DS (6 month old) has been cranky ever since we returned home! He was an angel on vacation. I think he misses Disney! It's a good thing because I think his older brother (3 in July) with the exception of the characters, monorail and pool could careless about Disney! He hated the parks and rides (with the exceptions of anything train related) I think the crowds and heat got to him. I am hoping this isn't a sign of things to come! By the way I would REALLY love to try out conceirge next time. We asked about it at check in and it would have only cost us 70.00 more a night but we had two rooms and if it was just us we would have done it.

Champdds- We had connecting rooms 3606 and 3607!

Luv2trav, so glad to hear you had a fabulous time at Poly! If AP rates come out for this fall, we might stay at Poly. I'm just now starting to research the buildings, etc., to try to determine which building to request. Our twins will be 19 months old when we go. I guess you could say we want to be fairly close to the Great Ceremonial House for the food, but we also don't want to walk a country mile to get to the TTC. What are your thoughts? I have a little map in front of me, but it's hard to calculate distance.

We were the ones in any shade that could be found! Actually, we had the DIS stroller (big blue Fisher Price model) so you truly may have spotted us coming or going. I was the lunatic trying to keep track of 16, 13, 11 year old "young adults" as well as a 9 month old :D Truth be told, the 9 month old was the easiest to handle out of the group. He was content chewing on plastic spoons and we have quite a collection from the various restaurants (a somewhat strange souvenir collection, I admit, but what can I say?!). Poly concierge was wonderful and now I fear I am ruined for anything less than that (tho your room sounded great). We got a super deal on the LVC with the 7 for 4......hoping another "once in a lifetime" deal comes along so we can go back soon!

Do all people get a free fridge and micro if they have a baby on formula?

Thanks!

KIm

TJA, the houses closest to the TTC seemed to far away for me. Instead of walking over the TTC we just hopped on the monorail and hopped back off at the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. I know it took it a little more time but riding the monorail was the highlight of our oldest son's trip and it was worth it to us. This is just my opinion. I would rather be closer to the pool and GCH.

Catnik, We did the 7/4 deal too! We orginally had GVC booked but my mother decided to go and we upgraded to connecting rooms instead. I am glad we did but I definately want to try LVC one day. That view is amazing! It would have been so nice to sit in our room to watch the fireworks with our young boys... Geez all this talk is making me want to go back now. I know what you mean about the older children being more difficult. Our oldest was a handful. He didn't want to get out of the pool. We were in the shadey area by the pool. We always got one of the tables. Plus we were the one's who had 2 fans on my little guys stroller the whole time...

Kim, I am not sure. The Poly charges for Frig's and we just asked if we could have it for free since we need it for the baby. Apparently they gave us a full size Frig when they were suppose to give us a smaller one. Plus, they said microwaves are FREE but it's a first come first serve and they cannot guarentee it.

Thanks! This is good to know because Ds might still be on formula during our next visit- he is milk/soy intolerant right now and could still be when we go therefore needing to be on formula not milk.

Kim
