Just back from Poly...great stay!!

We just returned last night from a week stay at the Poly. We absolutely loved it!!! We were given our first request for building. Samoa 1st floor & we were on the quiet pool side. It was a perfect location. So close to everything. The building was so quiet that I almost wondered if anyone else was there. Mousekeeping was great but no towel animals. We watched fireworks from somewhere at the Poly for each of the first 5 nights of our stay. A few nights kids already had PJs on & we ran out to beach to catch them. After being on the monorail, it would be hard to go back to just bus service. Rooms were very nice but I do think that they could do something to brighten up the front of the lobby. With all of the dark wood, you don't even notice the beautiful plants at times. We used Capt Cooks, Kona Cafe for breakfast & take out dinner & Ohana for breakfast & dinner. All were good. Kona's dinner was especially good. Lots of Alohas & friendly CMs. Only bummer was one of the pool heater burners in the volcano pool was broken so it was much cooler than my liking. The quiet pool was very warm tho. Any questions??

I bet you miss the Aloha's!! Your vacation sounds wonderful. How was the electrical water parade/pagent? That is one of my favorite things to watch from the polynesian beach. You can't beat the look at night of the 7 seas lagoon. I think it is the best view in all of disney. Carolyn

I'm glad that you had a great time at my favorite resort in the whole world! I would go to Disney and stay at the Poly once a month if I could, now if I could only win the lotto to make that dream come real! I always love to read a good trip report on the Poly, it makes me feel a little better knowing that someone else is enjoying that wonderful resort! I'm going to Disney in April for 7 days, 4 of which will be at the Poly and it's all I'm thinking of. I promised my kids we would one day stay at the AKL, so I decided to spilt my stay. Of course I'm saving the best for last and got 4 wonderful days at the Poly to look forward to!

Thanks for the post. We are going next month and will be first stay at Poly. Just a few quick questions. Did you all use the day bed and how comfortable was it? Was there a fridge in your room? I thought I've seen somewhere we could request turn down service even if not in cons. area, do you know. We were ablet to request it at WL last time, and the kids loved comming back to it after dinner. Were kids able to wear floaties down the pool slide? Thanks again.

Hi, to answer your questions. because we have 3 kids, someone used the daybed every night. It must have been comfortable because they fought over it every night. My youngest wore a lifejacket down the water slide & I think I saw floaties but not sure. We didn't have a refrigerator when we arrived & called & requested one. Someone brought down one right away. It actually held quite a bit. I did love the Electric Water Parade but only caught it one night.

Hi! We will be staying at the Poly in - just a second, let me check my counter - 5 days and we can't wait I am so ready for it. I have already warned my co-workers that I will be glowing like a Christmas tree and bouncing around like a cheerleader all week long!
