just back from poly concierge

4our4kids--

What we saw on our last trip was a lot of Lilo and Stitch items. The gift stores all carried very small stuffed characters from the movie. These could be used. I also think at one time I saw Mickey/Minnie in Hawaiian gear as a stuffed animal. I would check with conceirge. They may have some ideas. I know if they buy it you just have to give them your chg. card. There are so many "themed" items in their gift shops on site.

Hope this helps.

This was an afterthought to my first message. I notice so many of your are splitting trips with AKL/Poly. Has anyone done this before that can comment on the ease of packing/moving resorts? Also, what resort did you do first and why??

I was thinking just this morning about extending our trip another day or so and tacking on a few days at AKL. You have all read my mind. Our airfare is with Southwest and they are fairly good at making chgs. without charging addl. charges.

Thanks all!

Our trip to the Poly concierge was in mid-February. Our two boys loved the Neverland Club (they are 7 and 8)...this was money well spent, and they much preferred this over the Pirate Cruise they did from the GF on the same trip. We ate several meals at both Kona and 'Ohannas. Kona was great for both lunch and breakfast, and our kids found things they enjoyed. The waiter even taught our boys how to use chop sticks and they loved that! Dh and I did 'Ohannas for dinner alone while the boys were at the Neverland Club, because they did not enjoy this in the past. However, our kids greatly enjoyed the 'Ohanna character breakfast. Also, my two boys loved, loved, loved the pool area and they really loved the slide. Our dd 2 also liked the pool and the zero depth entry. We did the hammock for fireworks one night...magical is all I can say. ANd the guys (dh and both boys) rented the mouse boats one afternoon and had an absolute blast. They waved at dd and I as she napped beside me in a hammock....great memory :-) Also, for those staying in Tahiti...we had a problem with our GV concierge room this trip and they mooved us to Tahitti (though we stayed concierege), and we loved this building. We had a third floor LV and it was awesome!

Hi I have a question for WANNABE@WDW- I read that you all got up very early, were you able to get a little breakfast food at the concierge lounge early before you left for the parks? I am just wondering because we usually like to get to the parks early, for early entry, and wasn't sure what time we could get something to eat at the lounge. We are just booked for a regular garden view, but I am trying to see if we should do concierge!! We do like to come back to the pool by noon, and the snacks and drinks would be great then.Decisions, decisions!!! Thanks for your input, as well as anyone elses!!:D

We were there last week. Breakfast started at 7 a.m. There were a couple mornings that they had the oatmeal and cereal at 7, but the pasteries and bread were not out until 7:15. The folks working in the lounge were very helpful and offered to get us the bread/pasteries we wanted for breakfast before they set them out.

It was really worth it for us. We had 3 adults and 2 children in the room. Breakfast out would have cost us 25 - 30 dollars. We ate each day in the lounge for breakfast. We also had drinks and cookies/runts/gummy worms for snack most days. A couple of days we had some of their evening offerings and some days tried desserts. We definitely spent considerably less on food/water/drinks. I would definitely do this again.

There was always plenty of food and choices available in the morning. We always stocked up on bottled water and sodas for the day as well. We really didn't spend much on meals except for our character meals. When we did have a sit down meal it was usually a late lunch. The evening offerings were great, even if I didn't care for the ethnic cuisine, I would fill up on the crustless pb and j sandwiches (I am guilty of stockpiling in my room) The really weird thing is, I hardly ever it peanut butter and jelly at home (may be I really do revert to a child at WDW)!
