Hi all..

I have to disagree with you Tikiman...there was hardly anything Poly logo'ed..I found one light cotton jacket (purple)..no t-shirts, no sweatshirts and no real jackets. My DS found 1 tank top but they only had smalls and XXL. We all LOVED the Poly and really wanted Poly logo'ed stuff and there was virtually nothing. I did ask the CM at the register and she said it is hit or miss with their stock. All of my family was disappointed because we would all have bought clothing merchandise. There was virtually no Disney merchandise there. Over half the store was Tommy Bahama and princess type of dressing clothing.

Now, all I have to do is learn how to post a picture...geez..it sounds so confusing.....
I agree with you. I didn't get to buy any Poly clothes... honestly... I don't really remember seeing any! Ahhh.. but I did see tons of Tommy Bahama! And they no longer have fine jewelrys.

Thanks for sharing those great pictures!!! Oh how I miss the Paradise!!

Fantasia, you were there more recently than I but in May there was fine jewelry in a case by the front windows. Did you look there?

Those pictures make me want to be there NOW!

Glad you all like the pictures...

BCV...they delivered the USA Today to our front door each day, but that was the only paper we saw as well.

The only Poly magnet was the one with Lilo and Stitch. We were looking for something with just the resort, or name or Mickey and Minnie (hawaiian style). Although we like Lilo and Stitch, they are not our favorite characters.

Thanks, Sue. I did know that.

I also like to pick up the Orlando Sentinel (and when that paper was delivered to the doors, we would pick up the USA Today.....we do like our newspapers). You can buy papers upstairs in the Grog Hut or whatever the current name is. NY Times and WSJ too if I remember correctly. I just wish it was as convenient as it used to be.

Glad your family had so much fun! :cool1:

The one Poly clothing store has always carried Tommy Bahama clothing so that is nothing new. The Poly Princess had a mens store right next to it that had mostly all TB clothing. I always picked up a new shirt for DH when ever I'm there. Maybe you hadn't noticed it before?

How many stores are there now? When we were there last October there was a mens and womens clothing store. There was also a gift shop right across from Captain Cooks that sold kids clothing which is now closed due to the expansion. There was also a gift shop where you could get papers and stuff called the Island News or something off the lobby. That had the only Poly logo stuff and it was never that much. Maybe two racks of sweatshirts and t-shirts and then a shelf of logo cups and stuff. I never thought that had that much logo stuff as the other resorts do. I've always been disapointed in their lack of logo wear. There was also two shops upstairs. One for snacks and sundries and the other was all souveniers. Can anyone tell me what is left?

There were 3 stores there when we were there 6 days ago. One is called Boutiki. It carries "souvenier" type of merchandise. However, not much at all that has the Polynesian logo..there was one tank top in mens sizes, but all that was left were smalls and XXL's. There was also a hoodie type of cotton long sleeve jersey. It was purple and buttoned down the front. It was nice but I did not like the buttons and I think it was $54.00. I would not have minded spending the money, but I did not LOVE it...it was in women's sizes. There might have been a t-shirt for little kids but it was very "cartoony" with Lilo and Stitch and my children DS 11 1/2 and DD 10 did not like it. Then there was a bunch of princess dress up clothing items and tons of very nice Tommy Bahama clothing. I was not really shopping for regular type of clothing, so I was disappointed in the selection. There were also some Disney World t-shirts, we found the same ones in all parks.

The second store (upstairs) were all the sundry type of items. Snacks, magazines etc...A very nice selection...I really liked the store..it also carried alcohol...

The third store was an art gallery with different prints. They were also very nice, but I was not really shopping for that type of artwork. They were not Disney prints, rather more oceanic and scenic prints.

Thanks so much for posting your pictures!! I love the vitality of digital pictures! I am now so much more excited for our first trip to the POLY in January!!

thank again,

The elevators are almost center in the building complex. It just seemed easier and faster to take the steps. We were nearer to the end of building 3. Since we were already walking sooo much, what was a couple of extra steps. I am not sure if other guests used them often. If they were very close to your room, I would have absolutely taken them...you kinda get pooped out...tee hee

In Regards to Boutiki...

I will take both sides on this. Yes, I felt there was an adequate selection of Polynesian Logo Merchandise. Could they use more? Yes, I think the selection should and could be a little better. I will say that when I was there for vacation in July(Same Time as SeaSpray) the selection was just OK. When I was there a couple of weeks ago with Tikiman, they had added a few more things that I did not see the first time. So maybe this is a sign that they will keep adding more Logo Merch as time goes by.??

Sean

I hope you are right Sean...we all just love the Polynesian and were so disappointed that we can not remember it, when we would have been able to wear things at home.

You have the right to disagree with me but I saw all these things there and I was there the same time as you. My friend even got a shirt with the Polynesian logo on it. Everything I had seen in News from Polynesia last year was there and more with Polynesian logos on it so I don’t know what to say. I would not say it if I had not seen it.

When I get back from Sept. 4-14 trip I'll be sure to give you guys the lowdown on the goods offered. :goodvibes
