Hi guys,

I just got back from my trip yesterday. Very sad to be home :(

I'm gonna post a lot of detailed mini reviews from various parts of my trip.

and now for the Hotel...

We stayed at POFQ and I loved it! Of course that is no surprise, it's my 3rd trip there and I enjoy it more every time I go.

Check in was easy and there was no line. I check in around 11:15 and my room wasn't ready but that's not a big deal, especially since I know check in is at 3.

Once checked in we went to the food court and got lunch. The food was better than I remembered it last year. Of course I stuck to very simple fare, mostly double cheese burgers and ribs on the 2 nights we had dinner there. Food court was very clean and the cashiers and cooks were very efficient.

At 3 we finally got to crash in our room. We had a corner room in building 1 (king bed). It was room 1341. I loved it. It had the slightest river view and overlooked a beautiful courtyard. It was very quiet. Since we were on the 3rd floor there was not a lot of foot traffic at all. The room was very clean (however, the garbage wasn't emptied by the table which would be a going theme :) ). I'll post picture links at a later time.

Mousekeeping was very good. We tipped 2 dollars a day and received some extra treats. It was our anniversary and the first day there we got a card from Cinderella and Prince Charming. In the bathroom there was a bow towel creation with soap presentation. They even tied the toilet paper in a bow, which I really got a kick out of.

On other various days we also received a toothbrush holder and a towel basket decorated with ribbens and stickers with two doves. Very neat stuff. Of course for some reason the garbage was forgotten a couple more times, but I just put the can a little in from of the air conditioner to give it a more prominent view and that seemed to solve the problem. The only slight pet peeve I had with the room was there seemed to be very poor water pressure. I didn't really remember that from last year.

I must rave about of course the surroundings. The flowers and shrubbery were beautiful. I enjoyed the food court and everything we needed was withing comfortable walking distance. I would recommend getting a bananna split. They are made with hard flavored ice cream and lots of whipped cream and sprinkles. Definately enough for two!

I found the busses to be a bit slow, more details can be found in my transportation review on the transportation board. The only other complaint would be the pool. I thought the water was a bit slimy, but that could be because it was so hot.

Either way, I love this hotel and would stay again in a heartbeat. all the cast members were friendly and besides the one night there was a rainstorm, the hotel didn't feel the least bit crowded.

If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for reading,

Jen

We just got back from there also, and I agree the resort is very pretty, and pretty well manintained.

Our room was clean, and garbage emptied daily. We did receive a cute towel animal from mousekeeping.

The food court was pretty good, but we really only ate breakfast there twice and coffee and benigts the rest of the time.

Our biggest problem were with the cm's. From check in there was not a smile or kind word, I dont think we expected too much, but we must have different cms then you did. They seemed very unhelpfull, and out right rude.

The first encounter we had was at check in. There was no line, we were the only ones there and it took about 10 min for a cm to even acknowledge us, ok maybe they were busy doing other things. But then when we did get called the cm had such a face on, she really didnt even look at us, our room was not ready, but no biggie we were there at about 10 am and didnt expect it to be.

Our second encounter was when our fridge wasnt working, we stopped at the front desk on our way to dinner, and asked them to take a look at it. again, no smile, nothing, just said they would send someone up if we wanted to wait, ok we agreed, went back to our room and maintance came up very quickly, probably within 20 min. they played around with it for a couple of min. and said it should be ok. We got back later that night and it was still not working.

Our third encounter was when I called the front desk to explain the fridge was still not working, cm must have been very tired, because she said, well you can wait 2 hours for someone to come up tonight or you can wait till the AM. Obviously we opted for the Am. but I thought that was not a very nice way to put it.

The next encounter was again a phone call I made to resort information, and asked if they could give me some info on how the boats ran to Downtown Disney, and the answer I received was and I quote " How should I know, Im not down there". I could not believe this response.

The final encounter was when we decided to stay an extra day at the parks, and I asked if there was any availability for one more night stay, and the cm at the front desk looked at me like I just asked her for her first born. Ckd rather quickly on the computer and said nothing available, I said that was fine, but could she please check availability for me at another resort, and she said she could not, I would need to call central reservations, and turned her back to us and walked away.

Now everytime we went to the front desk, there was no lines, no people waiting, not busy at all, so IMHO just really poor service.

We did stay an extra night, but at the Contemporary, and the service there was what you would expect from any WDW hotel, it was wonderful. We have stayed on Site at ASM, CBR and now POFQ, and this was the first time wew ever encountered this type of rudeness.

We still had a wonderful trip and are planning our next one for Oct. but it will most definately not include the POFQ.
Oh and the Boat captains could not have been nicer, the restaurant cms were also fine.

I'm sorry you had trouble with the front desk. I must say, I don't really find the people at concierge all that helpful. I did not encounter any rudeness, but I did receive some bad transportation information. I also made a call to I believe "resort information" on my phone to ask about luggage and I received an "i don't know this is a call center" response. I guess it is beyond me why a resort hotel phone would connect to a call center...
