Just back from POFQ from Nov. 16-21. We moved to Universal's Royal Pacific for our last two days. DH & I have already decided that POFQ is our new favorite moderate resort. Crowds were low all week. No need for Fast Pass the entire time. Tons of characters everywhere! We had dinner at Boma one night. Great! But the tops was dinner at Ohana! The food was excellent and the view of the fire works was wonderful! I will be happy to answer any questions!

Hi!
Yes......lot's of questions!! What type of room did you stay in...double beds or king? What building? What did you think of the condition of the room?? (Some have posted that the rooms are a little worn.)
Our last stay was at the AKL and I'm worried that I've been spoiled. I've always wanted to try the FQ, though.....it sounds wonderful!
Oh yes.....O'Hana's is definately on our list for our Spring visit!

I second all of those questions - also, what was the weather like? Morning? Lunchtime? Night?

Thanks again - you're making us even more excited for our trip in 5 days!!!!! :) :) :)

Crichton & Drake--Hope you have trips as good as ours was last week. DH & I are singing the blues tonight because it was back to work and reality for both of us! We had never stayed at POFQ before this trip. We had booked a standard room. $79 AP rate. We were upgraded to a garden view. We had two double beds. I found nothing wrong with the room. We were in Building One. It took just a few minutes to get to the main building. The grounds were beautiful. As of last Thursday (Nov. 21) there were still no Christmas decorations at the resort, but I am sure they are probably in place by now. I loved how the resort looks like a little village with the wrought iron fences and fountains! DH & I have already talked about booking here again next year. We liked the small size of this resort and the quaintness. An added plus was first on and off the busses. We have stayed at all of the moderates now. As for the weather, we drove down in the pouring rain on Saturday from Georgia. I was still raining when we arrived but we forged on and went to Downtown Disney and did some shopping. There was no rain after that but the temperature dropped so we wore long sleeves, jeans, and jackets. The rest of the week we wore shorts and t-shirts as the temps climbed into the 70's. It did turn cool again by Friday night, so I would prepare for any event. Wish I was going with you!

Thanks! We're hoping to visit in May. Looks like this is where we'll stay!!

Ohana for dinner sounds great for fireworks. Normally we go to the Cal. grill for dinner but this is a better alternative for my neice and nephew since they would probably like the food better at Ohana (ages 11and 7). Could you tell me if you booked a window view and the time frame you booked dinner?

Thanks
Michelle

Hi
I just love POFQ too. We'll be going "home" to BWV next week and I will miss staying a few days at the FQ. This is the first trip where we will not be changing rooms at least once. It will be different to "stay put" the entire time.
Anyway, I'm getting off of the subject. What I really wanted to know is how did you like Royal Pacific ? We have stayed at HRH in the past and found it to be outstanding. I was thinking of adding a few days at Royal Pacific to an upcoming trip. What were your impressions? Thanks

EjandMD---The food at Ohana was great. The best meal we had! I had made a PS for 5:00 p.m. which is when they open for dinner. I did not request a window view, however, we were the second guests seated so we had our pick of tables. We had a window seat that had a wonderful view of the castle and the fireworks that started a 6:00. The lights dimmed and the music was piped in. Our waiter did not rush us as he knew that the fireworks were coming. My DH thinks that I planned the whole set up! LOL!!

N. O. Parrothead---We were very pleased with the Royal Pacific. The place was very lovely. The staff was very accomodating. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. from WDW and they put us right into a room and brought up our luggage. We caught the water taxi to the parks several times as well as walked on our own down the lovely pathway. It was not a bad walk at all. We did not eat at any of the hotel's restaurants. We ate all of our meals at City Walk. You must check out the Meal and Movie deal at City Walk! $18 for a nice sit down meal and a movie at the cinema! A great deal! Checkout was a breeze as well. We did not do the express checkout as we wanted to pay cash instead of having our credit card charged. They do have express checkout on your room television as well.

Sounds like you had a great vacation! My family loves O'Hana's too!

Thanks for the info. I really enjoy Citywalk as well. Looks like I'll be adding a few days to my next trip !
