We just returned from POFQ.
We had 2 rooms and got exactly what we requested-connecting rooms in building 5.
We have stayed at POP, CSR, BW, BC, GF, AKL, POR, WL, and All stars before. POFQ is one of our favorites. I would stay here again before CSR or any value resort. I would even consider it before a Deluxe based on the price.
We loved the pool area and pool bar. There is a really nice place to sit by the pool bar and still be close to the pool.
We loved the theme-the iron rails, the New Orleans streets, the beignets (Yummy and cheap), the jazz music playing quietly.
I also loved the quiet of the resort. I think this was the quietest resort we have ever stayed at.
I loved the pool area and the pool itself. The slide is a little small but my DD9 liked it because she could go up and down so quickly without a long line or hike up the stairs. So she went up and down all day.
The food court was good. It is smaller than POPs but it had all the essentials and everything we tried was good. We didn't eat there a lot.
They had live music at the bar-Scat Cats- Wed. thru Sat. from 8 pm to midnight. We loved this. Kids are welcome, but we sat there while my teenager watched the kids one evening. It was really nice. I know POR has this, but I don't think any Deluxe has live music like this. We absolutely loved it. It felt like vacation.
We loved walking along the river also.
The rooms are not big, but we knew that going in. The room was fine. I thought the window AC would bother me, but it didn't bother us at all. Everything was in working order.
I loved how close the pool and food court was to our room.
It was very quaint and safe feeling.
Mousekeeping was okay. When we checked in at 2:00 pm our rooms were ready-that was great. I have found that Disney housekeeping is quite lacking even at the Deluxes, so I always bring my own clorox wipes and expect to clean the room. We needed to here as well. I would love to be the people in the room after us. We clean everything in the room.
There was some dust webs on the light fixture above the beds and some Cheerios on the floor by bed, but other than that it was just the same old lack of a good cleaning.
We have this same issue at the deluxes as well. The rooms were cleaned everyday at a good time and were vacuumed each day. I think after we got the rooms good and clean, it was fine.
I am not sure if I am just really picky about cleanliness or Mousekeeping needs more training or Disney is just cutting corners by having the maids clean too many rooms to really do a good job, but this is at all of their resorts at all levels.
Overall, I loved POFQ and will stay there again. We are booked at AKL in June and we are really thinking about switching to POFQ and getting 2 rooms again. We can't really get 2 rooms at a deluxe, so this was nice.
The main thing I miss from the deluxes is interior corridors and a balcony.
If anyone has questions, let me know.
