We just got in yesterday from 9 nights at the pofq. We stayed in building #5(as all of you said was the best). The hotel was great we even got a few towel animals.
The resort was pretty empty with the exception of the Sat and Sun of labor day weekend.
I am happy to answer any questions.

I am going in Oct with DH and DDs age 3 and 7. Do you recommend building 5 or a closer building. Was your room in good shape? Any problems with housekeeping? Thanks so much for taking the time to share.

We loved building Number 5. Our room was 5330 and our friends was 5329. When you get out of the elevator the pool is right in front of you.
The room/building was not noisy. The room was spotless and housekeeping was great.
We did prefer one housekeeper than another but both were fine. Whatever you needed they gave you and very fast.
I was very impressed with the pool. This was the first time on site and I can't believe how much the pool is check.
They had 2 lifeguards on chairs all the time and 2-3 lifeguards constantly walking around the pool. I guess looking to make sure the pool is clean. It was wonderful.
Have a great trip!!

We will be staying at POR but I am curious how far is it to the pool at POFQ? Just incase we decide to try out the slide at FQ. Can you give a approx time to walk from one pool to the other?

thanks,
Jon

STAYING AT POFQ IN OCT HOW WAS THE FOOD COURT HOW ABOUT ROOMS??? ANY PROBLEMS WITH TRANSPORTATION TO PARKS TELL ME EVERYTHING,WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :p :p :p

17 more days till POFQ......woo hoo.

I am glad to hear that the rooms are still in decent shape.
I am looking forward to riding the boat to DD.....:smooth:

Enjoy the boat to dd. The only problem is bad weather. If you get stuck with a quick lightening storm, you are stuck walking all the way to the buses(by planet hollywood). Thank god this didn't happen to us but be prepared. One night the boat had to stop at pofq and never got bad to riverside.

The walk from riverside to fq is about 1 mile. there are boats that go back and forth. The boats run every 20 minutes. We did this 2 times it was great.
Our children are 5 & 7. The slide at french quarters was great but for older children the slide would be better at riverside.
The food court at the fq was good. The menu does not change from day to day. By the last day my husband was sick of it. I didn't mind it. Pull up the menu and see. I had fun there.
We did not use the buses at all so sorry I can't help.
I did see them run all the time.

Hi andychris14 & all,

Just for a recap, you think the pool @ POR is better for older children(will be there in Oct with 2 girls 10 & 12). You said there is a boat that runs between the 2 hotels? I'm only there for 2 days but I am very interested in trying both pools. Now that you know the resort if you were making another vacation ressie Anything you would change? I ask because the AKL is only 40.00 more per night and I was toying with the idea of changing resorts. But then again the 80.00 could buy us a nice dinner.

Thanks for the info!

andychris14,

Where does the boat land at DD? East Side, West Side or both? Isn't there also a bus stop on the East Side?

Thanks,
Bob

POFQ for Thanksgiving.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

If I were going tomorrow I would definetely stay at pofq again. It is small so the walk everywhere is fine. In the morning from the room to the food court and to the parking lot is a breeze.
Riverside is larger but I think they have parking lots for each section. The walk to the food court/pool can be long. I do believe that they have quite pools all around(no slides).
We went twice to the riverside pool because of the slide. Since your children are older than mine, I am sure that they will love riverside. french quarter is nice but for older children riverside pool is better.
There is a boat right outside of the foodcourt at riverside that takes you to french quarters and it leaves you off right by the pool there. You will not miss it.
The boat that goes to dd leaves you off at the rainforest cafe. It starts at 4:30 pm and last boat is at 11pm. If the line looks long stay on it. They will send more boats, just to get everyone home.
As for the buses, I only saw them by planet hollywood, but we never used them, so sorry I can not help.

there is definately a bus stop on the East side by the Rain Forest Cafe. But.....maybe it was closed for construction or something???

We're going to be staying there the first week of December - Glad to hear everything is still Magical at FQ!!!

Thanks again!
