I was in a king corner room in building 3 on the third floor. Beautiful and quiet! Clean room, great mousekeeping. Refrigerator was in. Got a peacock towel animal from my mousekeeper.

Any questions?

We are booked at POFQ for the end of August (1st time at WDW). I was wondering if the fridge was now included or is extra$. Also which Building is recommended? Was # 3 close to everything?
Any other info would be great.
Thanks Shay :Pinkbounc

Well, I guess I'm an official Disney know-it-all...you just stayed at the resort we're staying at in a few weeks and I can't think of a single question to ask :confused3

OK, how about this one...I read somewhere that they do Disney pin trading once a week in the former Bonfamille's restaurant. Did you happen to see it going on?

Did the room service menu include anything besides pizza?

What did you think of the "local" food court? Did you ever go to the one up at Riverside? Did you eat at Boatwright's?

What do the refillable mugs look like? Same as at Riverside?

Now that I thought of questions, you'll have to stop me

Glad you liked your stay.

Building 3 is one of the closest buildings to the main building, but nowhere in FQ is far from anywhere. The refrigerator is included and does not cost extra.

Yes, I ate at Boatwright's. I had the crabcake appetizers (wonderful!), prime rib, grilled asparagus, and a baked potato. All wonderful. I also had this great drink called a Southern Belle. Peach schnapps and cranberry juice. Doesn't sound good, but is oh so smooth. I took milky way cheese cake back to the room with me, and it was heavenly.

The food court was okay, I was not impressed with the beignets (should I duck now?). Truthfully, I usually only ate breakfast there and was at the parks for dinner most of the time. I did have a chicken caesar salad there that was great (better than the one that I had at the Royal Table, and cheaper too!). The mugs are exactly the same as POR, and can be used at both resorts.

I was not impressed with Jackson Square giftshop. The one at Riverside is so much nicer and bigger. I walked over there several times. I do think that Disney is offering more staples in the gift shops. There was peanut butter, jelly, bread, donuts, and cereal that you could buy as well as soda, beer, juice and milk.

Didn't see the pintrading going on, but wasn't looking for it, because I'm not into pin trading.

Pool was wonderful, nice and warm. Laundry was great, things were dried in only one cycle.

Food court at Riverside is good, one of my favorites. But still overall, I like FQ better because of the atmosphere and the size. This was my first solo trip, and I felt safe there.

Didn't look at the room service menu, sorry.

I didn't do Magical Express, but my friend and her family did, and thought they did a great job. She also did the dining plan, and saved quite a bit of money with it.

Also, being that this was my first solo trip, I had quite a few requests for my room--close building, upper floor, non-smoking, king bed--and lo and behold, I got them all. Do you think that the fact that it was my birthday helped?

Bus service was great. Longest I waited for a bus to anywhere was 15 minutes.

I was leery of FQ because I am so fond of Riverside, but I have to say that between the two, I would pick FQ every time. It was cool to come home in the evening and hear the jazz player that plays in front of the Scat Cat lounge.

my only caveat would be--don't lay your room key on the bedspread, you will never find it because it blends right in--speaking of which, there are loads of hidden mickeys in the bedspreads......

My family will be at the POFQ at the end of August too! We'll be meeting DH in Orlando while he is on leave from Iraq. POFQ is his surprise, he doesn't know we are staying there.

MARY ;)

We are headed to the POFQ in 10 days! How long is the walk to the Riverside? Is it quicker to walk or take the bus or boat? Is there a building that is closer to Riverside? We want to check out their pool and maybe eat at Boatwrights.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the great review. I just made plans to stay at POFQ in September and I too and a POR Lover, but wanted to try something new. I'm so glad you found it as enjoyable as you did.

Are all of the King Rooms corner rooms? Did the corner rooms at POFQ have two windows (one on each side), like at POR?

Thanx. :wave2:

You've got me even more excited than I was. :goodvibes :teeth:

:flower: We too will be staying at POFQ in Sept. 9/15-9/18. I can't wait it all sounds so great, thanks for the info.

We'll be there August 6-13 (let's hope for a quiet tropical storm season!) Thanks for the good report - I really struggled over where to stay but all these good reports make me happy with my choice. My girls are 9 and 13 and can hardly wait since it has been 4 years since our last visit. Only 11 more weeks!!!

Sorry--back to work, and tired from my trip so I didn't get on last night. The King room that I had had 2 windows and was big. The walk to Riverside was about 15 minutes, but I don't mind walking. Building #7 would be closer to Riverside, #3 is on the opposite side of FQ from Riverside. I did not do EMH mainly because the parks usually didn't close till 9 anyway, and I usually get there pretty early. MK was open until 10 several nights.

If you haven't seen Wishes, don't miss it! Probably the best fireworks show I have seen WDW do at MK. Soarin' is wonderful, but definitely fastpass material. I even did Mission space, and yes it made me nauseous, and no, I don't get motion sickness, but yes, it was worth every moment of nausea (easily solved with a hot pretzel). It's a Small World is beautiful now with the refurbishment, the colors are bright, and the costumes restored.

I do think POFQ is one of the best resorts at WDW for just relaxing and unwinding because of the quiet.

As far as boat service, both times I used it, I waited for about 1/2 hour for it to arrive. Busses were much quicker, so could be used to go to Riverside. Just hop on the first bus that comes along, and as long as it is not full, it should go to Riverside before proceeding to a park. You can always ask the driver.

I would love to go again, not do the parks, and just spend time at this resort.....

I have a question!!! (several actually)

Did you hug Kimmy for me? :teeth:
Did you ride Buzz and the TTA for me?

Did you have a GREAT Birthday???? :teeth:

Hi Deb, the answer to your questions would be yes, yes, and double yes!
