Just came back yesterday from our first stay at POFQ. And I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. We most likely will be staying here in future stays.
Any questions? Fire away!:thumbsup2

Hi and welcome back!

I am thinking of upgrading from the ASMu to POFQ and I was thinking of requesting buildings 2 or 5. I know the resport is small so all your walks are short ones. I really dont like views of the parking lot. Based solely on the view, which building location would you say is the best?

Thanks in advance and glad you like it!

I would love to hear about the resort. What are the beds like? How was the transportation? Thanks
As said before we were very pleased with this resort. We had previously stayed at Pop, and we were dying to go home simply because of the beds. They were very hard, well at least harder than what we're used to. The POFQ beds were MUCH more comfortable, they weren't hard, and they werem't too soft. Very comfy.
The transportation was something else....At the resort, the buses we wonderful. The most we waited for any bus was 5 min. The only complaint is that we stop over at Riverside and that takes at least 10 minutes before we are on the road going to the park.
We never had a very long line coming from the parks at MK and AK, Epcot was something else. And I don't believe that Disney does a very good job at this. They should know that there are 2 resorts and send 2 buses to accomodate all those people. At MK they had seperate FQ and Riverside buses. But at Epcot, be prepared to wait, especially during the EMH.
In all, we really enjoyed our stay, and wouls stay there again. Just be prepared to wait for the buses.
Good luck, and enjoy you vacation at the World!!

We also upgraded from a Value to a Mod, and to us it was well worth it. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Mods.
We stayed in building 1, and to be honest it was a good 5-7 minute walk. Well, we walk with 2 toddlers, so maybe that was why!:)
I would request building 2 or 3. 3 being the closest, and 2 being by the pool.
Good luck with your decision, I'm sure your vacation will be magical either way!

We are going without DS. What building would you say would be the quietest?

Thanks.

Can you compare the Riverside with French Quarter?
Which is better and why?
What are the differences?
Thanks!

I stayed in building 1 with a view of the river, it was very quiet. It is the furthest from the bus stop. Last time we were in building 3 and it wasn't noisy either. Maybe it's because we got in late and got up early. We did have our midday nap and swim. Maybe its just its so laid back people forget to make noise. :confused3

I like FQ because of its size. Riverside has a TS, which is not real important to me. I do love the mansions there, but not enough to give up FQ. Scat Cats and the hot tub at FQ are enough to keep me there. But you can't go wrong with either resort. Oh, and FQ has its own bus stop at MK in the evening and its first on and off going and coming to the parks. I never minded the stops at Riverside because I had a place to sit on the bus.

I have stayed at the POFQ 5 of the 7 visits I have made to Disney both as a child and as an adult. DH and I went in August for our honeymoon, and we stayed in Bldg 4. (We also stayed there when I was young.) If you look at a map, Bldg 4 is located near the bus stop, next to the food court, and far enough away that you don't hear the noise from the pool. We are all about convenience, and Bldg 4 was great for us. The Unofficial guide has a great map of the entire resort.

From our experience, POFQ is a very quite and low key resort no matter where you stay. We love staying there!
