We got back on Sunday night from a wonderful 8 day vacation in the world. We stayed at POFQ and it was beautiful! I have pics but can't post them yet due to some technical problems with the computer and uploading stuff.

Here are some observations I had:

1. The Disney Transportation buses now have a new automated spiel where the voice talks about the park you are heading to and gives 'insider info' on some attractions, etc. (not very insider but thats what they say!!:rotfl: ) The automated voice also talks about your resort on the way back and says 'you'll be home soon'. I thought they only used the word 'home' with the DVC resorts but I guess they are doing it now for all the resorts...let the brainwashing begin:lmao:

2. One day when we were going to MK, a huge charter bus pulled up with a small sign on the front that said 'Disney Transportation: Magic Kingdom'. I also saw this one other time too when I wasn't waiting for the MK bus. The bus was white and was owned by another company but I think Disney is outsourcing some of their transportation due to large crowds.

The rest of my observations I will post on the theme park thread because they are mostly observations about the parks.

If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer!!

We saw two of those buses last May at SSR. The parks weren't really busy and neither were the buses at SSR. We laughed and joked about it being some sort of imposter trying to pose as a Disney bus driver.

I thought the same thing too! DBF was making fun of me saying 'what is the guy gonna ask everyone for money once they get off at the MK?'

Weird that they have those buses when its not even crowded. I can understand them adding extra buses when its peak season but low crowds makes me wonder..

I am glad you had a great stay and you enjoyed POFQ. That is my favorite moderate resort.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. I look forward to seeing your pictures.:thumbsup2

I see you've stayed at CSR in the past. Do you like POFQ or CSR better?

Thanks hopefully I can upload those pics soon!

I have to say I enjoyed POFQ better ONLY because it is smaller and not as spread out. Both resorts are beautiful and the theming excellent :thumbsup2 DBF said he liked CSR better because of the food court. I'm a vegetarian (look for my dining review coming soon from a vegetarian perspective) so I don't eat much of what they serve anyways so I can take both foodcourts or leave em..

I've stayed at both and prefer POFQ. CSR has only one sink in the room. CSR is so spread out, not so with POFQ. POFQ's food court has beignet. CSR food court has a 10% fee for getting you a table and refills on your drink. POFQ has a bus and boat to DTD, CSR has a bus. They both have 4 bus stop (POFQ shares with POR), but has its own bus stop at MK in the evening. Oh, and you are dropped off and picked up first at the parks at POFQ. POFQ can share the main pool and quiet pools at POR. The hot tub at POFQ is very secluded, making it very romantic.

I've stayed at both and prefer CSR! It has much more to offer than POFQ. Yes, POFQ has a boat to DtD (slow) but shares it's buses with POR and it makes for crazy departures from the parks. The queue is shared as well.

CSR is more central so it has quick trips to the parks. Everything is at CSR so you won't have to venture off unlike POFQ where you have to go to POR to use the marina or a sit down restaurant.

Just a few questions...

1) Can teens do cannon balls into the POFQ pool ?

2) Were the beds comfortable ?

3) Do you think we could fit a twin size aero bed in the room ?

4) Were there hangers for tou use in the closet ?

5) Did you receive any towel animals ?

6) Did you like your room location ? Which building do you stay in ?

7) Did you have a 1st, 2nd or 3rd level of the building? Did you like the level ?

We are thinking of POFQ as our next resort. Just not sure if a 1st floor or 3rd floor room would be best. We have teen kids. No strollers.

How close is the pool bar to the pool? Can you bring your drinks to the pool area?

I'm staying at POFQ in December. I stayed back in 92 as a kid, so obviously the pool bar was not a big thing for me. I'm sure the resort will be a completely different experience as an adult (or at least that's what everyone thinks I am:rotfl2: )

We actually did put a twin size aerobed in our POR room, and I'm pretty sure the rooms are the same size as POFQ. We put it between the bed and the outside door, and just stood it up against the wall during the day. My DS18 of course wasn't going to share a bed with his sister, and we knew the trundle would be small, so this worked out perfectly!

Just be sure you don't do like I did - I got up and stepped on his head during the night!

1. Not sure about that one, the lifeguards were pretty strict. We saw them yell at a father for picking up his child and tossing her to the other side of the pool.

2. Beds were definitly comfy. We had a king bed and there was plenty of room to stretch out!

3. Not sure about that one. Did you think of trying POR they have trundle beds and can accomodate 5. With the king bed room you could def fit one, but I am assuming you are speaking of a double bed room.

4. Yes, plenty of hangers. And Mousekeeping was very good and I am sure if you requested more they would bring some for you.

5. Yes we received 3 towel animals and some nice towel 'shells' I was calling them on the side of the tub and sinks.

6. GREAT room location! We were in the North Quarter Bldg 4. Room 4204 corner king room with two windows! It was amazingly close to the bus stops and to the main building. However all buildings are very close to everything there.

7. Second floor room. I like being on the 2nd or 3rd floor. There are eleveators so if you don't want to take the stairs. I think that would be fine with teens, babies I am not sure about.

Hope I have helped. If you want to PM me for more info just do so!

Pool is right across from the main building. We were in building 4 so we were very close. You can bring your drinks there, no problem...they have a pool bar where they sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I also saw people eating their lunch there too.

I think you will love it! It is a great resort:thumbsup2
