Overall, I have to I enjoyed this hotel... although I have to say that a major complaint I have heard about the All Stars applies to this resort as well, at least in my mind... that is being able to hear toilets flushing from above. I have never particularly noticed it at the AS's... but it was HORRIBLE at PO FQ (at least it was in our first room) Worse than that... we checked in at 12:30 am... into a room in Bldg #1... my daughter wouldn't use the bathroom - she said it was "stinky"... turns out, the toilet from the floor above us was leaking into our bathroom (how, I just don't know)... fortunately they moved us into a room on the ground floor of bldg 5 (anyone know whether 5125 is a standard room or water view?)... and all problems disappeared... no noise (AT ALL!)... what a WONDERFUL location.

I was not satisfied with the choices at the food court - the PO R food court was better... disappointed in the fact that you can't rent bikes/boats, etc at PO FQ...

But we LOVED the theming, loved the little bunnies that run around the grounds at night, loved being picked up before PO R... Loved the boat ride down to Downtown Disney... etc...

Any Q's?

Welcome Home! and Happy New Year!
I'm so glad you had positive things to say about this resort.
My family and I will be going down to POFQ 4/12-4/20.
What did you think of the overall condition of the room?
Some reports have come back as sometimes iffy.(ie,worn carpets
dirty carpets etc.)
How was the bus service and approx. how long to get from room
to bus stop.?
Did you walk over to POR? How long of a walk?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm getting really excited!!!!!!!

I found the room to be VERY clean - no stains on the carpet, no mildew in the bathroom...

The walk to the bus stop took maybe 2-3 minutes? We did not walk to POR-R, but I did ask how far it was, and I was told 1/2 mile each way.

I would stay at this resort again... not necessarily our next trip, but only because we're slowly, but surely, working our way through each resort.

How funny, we found the choices at the PO-FQ foodcourt better than those at PO-R! We also liked the atmosphere of that foodcourt better! We have stayed at both, and for our money, we would go back to PO-FQ before PO-R!

The walk from Riverside to French Quarter is 5 - 10 minutes and is a nice walk along the river. The boat goes between the two every 20 minutes or so but isn't much quicker.

We'll be arriving about 1:AM thanks to priceline. Was it difficult to check in that late? I guess we'll ask for a third floor room to avoid noisy plumbing. Thanks for the info about this resort - we're going mid-March.

There was no line! :p

Beware, if you're checking in on a Tuesday/Wednesday - that's when the computers go down... so any special requests won't be known... at least that's what they told me... our reservation had "do not move... do not move... do not move" and still we were moved... but there was no way for the front desk person to know this...

Welcome back candleonwater! We will be staying at PO/FQ May 3 thru May 10 and we are so excited. We requested Building # 1 though. Can you tell me anything about the room you had in that building besides the toilet problem? {which I pray they fixed} I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this resort and would go back. We have been looking forward to staying there for a while but always end up somewhere else.

Come to think of it, we checked into WL really late a few years ago and there was no line there either!;) We were all a bit sluggish at that time of night, including the CM's!

Does anyone else have good room options for standard view at POFQ? We may not have much choice on a Sat eve. after most folks have already checked in. Sounds like a great place. I hope the kids 8 & 10 like it - it looks like the pool area is highly rated by munchkins. Thanks again for any info. These boards are super!

The room we had in Bldg 1 was identical to the room we switched to in Bldg 5 - two beds, a small table, etc... if you can believe it, the room was "almost" too big for just me and my daughter!

If the room is considered a standard view - you ought to try for 5125... I loved the location - it overlooked the river, we could watch the water shuttle at night... plus the little yard where the bunnies hang out at night... short walk to water shuttle stop, short walk to food court... but then again, the resort is so small that nothing was a very long walk... Also, in this room... we heard NOTHING from outside or any other rooms... very quiet location.
