This is my first try at this. I thought that since I have everyones report and gained valuable info that I would share my famlies experience. We were at PBH from the MArch 17th -22nd. The hotel is great. We had a kids suite in the east wing. We got a fan club rate of $349.00 per night. The room for the kids was great. It had a sailboat theme. The kids room has a small standing only balcony. THe main adult room was just ok. The furniture has seen better days. I had to ask housekeeping to change the beadspread. On a side note the housekeeping supervisor told me that they lost a star and are now only a 3 star hotel. If you have small kids mine are 8 and 5 it is better than 2 connecting rooms beacuse there is no axcess to the hallway. The pros to two connecting rooms is the extra bathroom but these bathrooms are so large it is not needed. We did get our welcome gift the first night and the kids did get the welcome gift. I did have to ask at check in. The house keeping staff was great as well as the bell staff. the front desk staff was fair at best.
We spent most mornings at the parks and afternoons at the pool. The kids loved the slide and the lifeguards was very attenative. The villa pool was quite and peaceful. The pools all offer towel service and the main pool had a bar with wait staff around the bar area. The only this that I would suggest is that the bar stay open longer. It closed at 5pm and the pool area was packed. If you wanted a drink at the pool after that you had to go to the Thirsty Fish bar for a "to go". The hotel according to the front desk was sold out that week so they should have had a larger staff at the pool.
We ate most nights at City Walk. We had a great meal at city walk each night. WE ate at NBA City, Jimmy Buffets and Hard Rock. The staff and food were great at each place. The food was very reasonable. We did go to Tchop- Chop one night and if=t was great . The only disappointing meal was the one we had at the hotel at Tattoria del Porta(sp?). It was more expensive than any of the City Walk resturants and not nearly as good. The priority seating that you get for staying at the hotel is awsome. We went to the Hard rock with a party of 12 and they seating us within 30 min.
The parks were good. We never had to wait with the FOL axcess. During the weeks that parks were not crazy but on Saturday it was packed. WE did go the the MArdi Gras parade on FRiday night. It was fun. My kids had a great time trying to catch beads. I was very disappointed with so of the other people at the parade. There were some who were grading the beads that the people on the floats were throwing to the kids. My husband and I tried to catch the beads and give them to the kids that were around us not just our own.
Slime time when we were there was being filmed Mon- Wed. Jimmy Nutron was not yet opened but the man at Nick said they will open next week. I am sorry that we missed it when we were there. Just a word of advise. If yoy plan on goind to see that game lab show at Nick get to the line at least 20 min before the show. They run through out the day.
If anyone has a question I will try to answer. Thanks to everyone who I gained valauable knowledge from using this board.
