Our family had a great time in a 2 bedroom at our home resort at the Villas Wilderness Lodge. We got a corner unit which made it seem even bigger. The weather was horrible the first two days (Christmas eve and Christmas Day) it was only 45 and raining, but seeing Gary Sinese at the Candelight Processional made it much better. By the time we left on New years though the weather had gotten much nicer to about 75. The highlight for me was seeing my teen idol at dinner one night, my husband said i was blushing! but out of respect for his family, we didnt bother them and neither did anyone else there. That was nice to see. Didn't love our towncar service, using someone else next time, but that didnt dampen our vacation. On the 30th they had the New years eve fireworks Fantasy in the sky at midnight. Wishes was earlier at 830. (had to buy the CD of wishes!) I thought it was a great idea they had they new years eve celebration fireworks for 2 nights, made it easier for people who didnt want to fight the crowds on New Years eve. It did get more crowded everyday from the 24th up until New Years eve. When we arrived on the 24th we went to the Magic Kingdom at 930 and had the whole park to ourselves until midnight! We had a great first Christmas in Disney as DVC members and can't wait to go back.

Thanks for the report! Sounds like a great trip with lots of family memories.

I just gotta ask - who was it? I was a BIG Shaun Cassidy fan when I was a little girl!

Sounds like a GREAT trip! I'd love to go over the holidays some time.

Don't leave us hanging! Who is it and where were you eating at the time?

Hi,

Glad you had a wonderful time!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Allison

I would like to know who your idol was too...pretty PLEASE?

Also, which towncar service did you use and what went wrong?

Bumping up because I must know what teen idol you saw and what towncar service you hated!

Now you've got us all wondering....who was it??
And please share the name of the town car service that you didn't like.
Thanks!

SamRoc, we must have been neighbors! We were also at Wilderness Lodge Villas during that time, and we also had a corner unit! It was lovely--I had always wanted to stay there at Christmas. And was your idol a country western singer?? We saw one on the boats with his family, I can't think of his name, Eddie somebody. Montgomery, maybe? I was sure glad I had brought my down-filled coat for Christmas Day, because we were also at the Processional that day, at the 5:00 show.

Hi Everyone! My teen Idol that I saw in Disney was Donny Osmond! Ok I am giving away my age! But I went with my girlfriend to see him in Madison Square Garden in 1970, yikes do I feel old. He looks great in person, and his wife and 3 sons are very good looking just like him. I had to call my girlfriend back in New Jersey and rub it in! She was very jealous.
The towncar I didn't love was tiffany town car, their driver first gave me an arguement that there wasnt time for the grocery stop that I was promised when I booked the trip. Then she gave me attitude about which food store she wanted to stop at (she said ONLY Goodings) I said they were too expensive for me, I think she was just being lazy. When I said I was going to call her boss, she changed her tune and took us to Publix. I called up and complained the next day and the driver manager told us he would fix the problem and send us a new driver, but lo an behold, when it was time for our pick up at VWL it was the same ice princess! Didnt have time to change at that point or we would have missed our flight. Our family tried to make the best out of it by giggling and poking eachother in the back seat while she drove us to the airport again not saying a word, no personality at all! Again we didnt let it ruin our great first Christmas in VWL. I think our room number was 2519, a corner unit. It was right above the gym which my daughter loved. I highly recommend going at Christmas time, just don't go into the parks during the afternoon, only very early in the morning or between 10 and midnight.

Very cool and thanks for sharing! I was dying to know! I remember watching the Donny & Marie show every Friday night. ;)

Now, may I ask where you were eating at the time?

We used to use TTC too until we had a problem they wouldn't correct. We switched to this site's sponsor, FLTours and eveything has been great ever since.

I too was a huge Shaun Cassidy fan. We were supposed to get married when I grew up, but my brother wouldn't let me. :guilty:

SamRoc, I have always loved Donny too  I remember when I was in college hearing that he had gotten married, a friend of mine actually cried :guilty: Sounds like you had a great trip! We just bought some VWL points and will be scheduling our trip for next Christmas in a few weeks :cheer2: Lacee
