We just got back from a huge 12 day trip, with four days at DW before and after the cruise. I just can't believe the top notch service on that ship, they couldn't do enough for you, and they were so very nice.
Check in went very smoothly...my DH went and registered the kids (learned on Dis) right there at the terminal, so fun to get my DS12 first Navigator, he was so excited. We got on about 12:00. Went right up to BBB for lunch, but probably should have gone to Parrot Cay, it was too chilly for outside.
We had two inside staterooms on deck 7 aft, thanks for the tip to stay there! The "secret verandah" back there was just beautiful...I saw the most gorgeous sights from the sun on the water, took some nice shots too.
My DH and I stayed in one room and our three boys in the other. They split the queen bed right away (another great tip) and left fun towel animals every night. :)
Our servers...were Anthony and Dora. Dora was awesome, and Anthony was too, but he was kind of hard to understand at times (Indian accent), especially when the restaurant was noisy.
The only tip I wouldn't use again was getting off the ship on Nassau day. We took a bus to Cable beach and rode all the way thru town (not so pretty). Got there at the Wyndam Palace, and the beach water was freezing! The pool water was too. It was a bust. We packed the kids up and went right back to the ship. We had lunch and enjoyed the adult pool the rest of the afternoon, loved that pool!!!!

The kids clubs... our kids LOVED them. First, our DS16 Pat. He made SO many great friends in Aloft. We hardly ever saw him and he stayed out till 2:00 am every night, he had an absolute blast. He then met up with these friends at Disneyworld every night after the cruise. He never had so much fun in his life. A fun thing he did at the end of the cruise, was to buy that picture frame from Shutters that you can open and put two pictures in, he took the night time ship picture on one side and had all his new friends sign the frame...then he's going to develop one of his group shots and put it on the other side. I thought that was such a great idea, and it came out great. I also had guest relations have the characters sign a big 11x14 frame for me, picked it up the last night and it came out terrific (another Dis tip).

Our second DS13, also loved the Aloft, but he is more an independent type...he made a few friends and did his own thing.

Our third DS12, LOVED the Oceaneer Lab and made lots of new friends. He missed the meet and greet the first night (why do they put it so early when families are eating on that first night??), so if I had to recommend anything it is to go that meeting. He just loved this place, had lots of fun all day, every day.

My husband and I just loved every minute of it, loved our alone time. Did Palo on sea day at brunch (another tip, I never would have known about it). The food was awesome and ate ourselved silly. They cannot make the chocolate souffle at this brunch by the way. That particular cook isn't there. We begged, but no go.

Castaway Cay...need I say more. Paradise on this earth. :) The only mistake I made on this island was to go and check out the adult beach. My DH and DS12 went and played for awhile together at noon time, so I thought it would be a good time to check out the quiet side. What a mistake and waste of time for me. I really hated it. I got there and it was all seaweedy, I thought, "I can get this at home on the Cape!" and I also couldn't see the ship. I really wanted to be able to see it in the distance. I desperately wanted to meet back with DH. So I chanced it. I took the tram back and I was never so happy, he was sitting right there ready to get on the tram to meet me :teeth: . So we went back to the family beach at about 2:00, found a waiter and ordered my first Konk cooler!! :flower: Thanks Disers for that tip! Oh, so good. We then walked over to those hammocks next to the bar, plopped ourselves down with the ship right in front of us and took a deep breath. I swore I was in heaven...I could have stayed there forever.

Pirate night was a blast. The fireworks were awesome. So fun to dance on that pool!

Anyway, I'm sure there's tons more tips I learned here. Thanks to everyone! We really want to book a 7 day now. But I booked this whole trip on points (DVC), so now I have to go back to reality and pay cash, ouch. And we're totally dependent on school vacations, maybe next June? A question on Dreams Unlimited...who do I ask for? do they have a 800 #? I'd love to book the one that has CC twice on the sailing (June 24th), but its 7800.00 for the five of us in two inside staterooms! A big ouch. Thats the quote I got from Disney cruise line this morning. Any tips for me?

Thats about it from me for now! We LOVED cruising with Disney!!!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the report-sounds like you all had a wonderful time!!!! Welcome home (even though I bet you wish you were still there).

I have a question about the 11x14 frame you had signed by the characters...was it a photo mat or an actual frame? And I presume this was something you brought from home for them to sign or did you purchase it on the ship? It sounds like a great idea....so I need more info!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the info!

Lisa

It was a matte I brought from home. The only thing I wished I had done was ask to have them sign it in the horizontal position. Most of the professional pictures are in that position, so just be aware of that. They do a great job signing it, but make sure you remember to go back on your last night to pick it up, write a note somewhere to remind yourself. Its easy to forget. Oh, and if you pick it up before the big character farewell party at 10:00 pm, you'll have another chance for more signings. I loved that party! Tons of characters come out.

Thanks for the tips! I take it the matte was to fit an 8x10 photo? Thanks again!

Lisa

Lisa, yes, its for an 8x10 photo. :)
