We stayed at the BCV room 474. It was right above the canal, pool view. I had requested an Epcot view, but was told none were available, so we had a choice of a garden view or pool view. I am glad we took the pool view, because we were fairly close to the bus stop, and we saw Ms. Alligator. She was swimming with the turtles Thanksgiving morning. I was outside on the patio when I all of a sudden noticed her. It totally made up for not having an Epcot view!

The crowds were heavy while we were there. Sunday at the MK was unbeleivably busy. At one point there was a total gridlock of people coming out of Mickey's Philharmonic. We saw Fantasmic for the 1st time, and LOVED it. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before now.

I also was impressed with how close Epcot is to BCV. I was under the impression that the walk was a good 10 minutes, so we waited for the boat. 25 minutes later, we got on the boat, we laughed when the boat pulled up to the dock to let us off, we looked behind us and could still see the lighthouse dock we were just on! LOL.

I had to be rescued from the lazy river by a lifeguard. *blush*. My 3 yo had slipped off the tube while we were in the 8 foot section. I am not a strong swimmer, so between holding him above water, and tryin to get to the side, I was getting tired. We were not in immediate danger, but the lifeguard was watching me and saw I was starting to struggle a bit with keeping my son and myself above the water, she asked if I needed help, and I figured I better get it...so she blew the whistle and jumped in...she gave me the float while she took my son. I was a little embarrassed, but better to be embarrassed for a few minutes than be in BIG trouble with a tragedy. I was impressed with how alert ALL the lifeguards were, and with how many lifeguards were there. My DH pointed out as we were leaving, I was not the only one who need to be rescued. Another lifeguard had to jump in for someone. Those lifeguards probably see alot of water time. I am going to write a letter to BCV to let them know what a great job the lifeguards do.

There were no compliants about the room, other than I wanted the AC on, and DH kept turning it UP. I swear that man has ice in his veins. I did have a bag of trash outside my door Fridayt morning, from the room next door...I don't know if it was housekeeping ( the cart was there) or the people who were in the room, because when the housekeeping cart was gone, the trash was still there. So if you noticed a bag of trash in front of room 474...IT WAS NOT OURS. LOL

It was so nice to save money on eating out with the full kitchen. We had breakfast in the room everyday, and I cooked supper 2 or 3 times during the week. It helped on the checkbook.

I can't decide if I like OKW or BCV better. we stayed at OKW last year with renting. Hubby like BC, but I think I like the tranquility of OKW.

Next trip is in April...I can't wait!

Glad you had a great time! It's good to hear that SAB's lifeguards are so alert. I guess that they have to be with that lazy river. Thanks for the great report!:D

Sounds like you and your family had a great trip! It's nice that you are going to let BCV know about your good experience with the lifeguard. :) I am sure they love positive feedback about the staff. Thank you for posting.

Thanks for the Report!

The lifeguards at SAB are great and very alert. Im happy to hear they were able to help you.

I understand about you getting tired. When we were there, we dubbed it "the not so lazy river" because it moves relatively slow so you have to do a little more work than you'd expect.

Glad to hear you had a great trip!

That's good news about the lifeguards....and that you had the sense to take the offered help.

I guess you know now but the walk to the boat dock from BCV is probably longer than the walk to Epcot. ;)

We were in 172 (1 bdrm). It was nice to have the first floor patio exit when the little one was sleeping in the livingroom.

We had a great time!

Thanx for the report, Disney1fan2002. I am happy to read that you enjoyed your trip, and that you did not drown. :teeth:

Thanks for the report. Since it is a long time before our next trip to WDW (we are Disney cruising in April!), I love reading other folks trip reports.

Glad you and your family had a good time!

Hi Lisa! I hope we were not too noisy above you! LOL. I had a hard time controlling my kids in the halls...with them running and being LOUD. After the 2nd day or so, they tried to remember other people were behind the doors.

Ok time for the rescueing your toddler lesson.....back the baby up to you so he's lying like your watching tv together with baby's head on your sholder. wrap one arm around the baby and swim backwards (ok kinda sideways backwards with one arm). This should keep baby's head out of the water easily while you swim and reach for the side.

Ps. if your going in April, I highly reccommend OKW for the vacation from your vacation. April can be nuts!

Disney1fan2002,

I just got back the week before you and I also loved my BCV room #467 right over the canal on the epcot view side. I was very happy to get that room and I loved the view. I could see the alligator a couple of times and lots of turtles. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the pool view. I may not be as lucky to get the same view next time. I would definately take pool view over garden view. I like to have stuff to look at when I sit on the balcony.
I agree with you on the OKW rooms. I stayed there a few years ago and loved those rooms also. My home resort is BCV and I would love to stay at OKW again some time but, I am not sure if I could give up the location of the BCV.
I also saw Mickeys Philharmagic for the 1st time and I just loved it! I wished it was longer.
Glad to hear you had a good time. :p
