We stayed at the BCV room 474. It was right above the canal, pool view. I had requested an Epcot view, but was told none were available, so we had a choice of a garden view or pool view. I am glad we took the pool view, because we were fairly close to the bus stop, and we saw Ms. Alligator. She was swimming with the turtles Thanksgiving morning. I was outside on the patio when I all of a sudden noticed her. It totally made up for not having an Epcot view!
The crowds were heavy while we were there. Sunday at the MK was unbeleivably busy. At one point there was a total gridlock of people coming out of Mickey's Philharmonic. We saw Fantasmic for the 1st time, and LOVED it. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before now.
I also was impressed with how close Epcot is to BCV. I was under the impression that the walk was a good 10 minutes, so we waited for the boat. 25 minutes later, we got on the boat, we laughed when the boat pulled up to the dock to let us off, we looked behind us and could still see the lighthouse dock we were just on! LOL.
I had to be rescued from the lazy river by a lifeguard. *blush*. My 3 yo had slipped off the tube while we were in the 8 foot section. I am not a strong swimmer, so between holding him above water, and tryin to get to the side, I was getting tired. We were not in immediate danger, but the lifeguard was watching me and saw I was starting to struggle a bit with keeping my son and myself above the water, she asked if I needed help, and I figured I better get it...so she blew the whistle and jumped in...she gave me the float while she took my son. I was a little embarrassed, but better to be embarrassed for a few minutes than be in BIG trouble with a tragedy. I was impressed with how alert ALL the lifeguards were, and with how many lifeguards were there. My DH pointed out as we were leaving, I was not the only one who need to be rescued. Another lifeguard had to jump in for someone. Those lifeguards probably see alot of water time. I am going to write a letter to BCV to let them know what a great job the lifeguards do.
There were no compliants about the room, other than I wanted the AC on, and DH kept turning it UP. I swear that man has ice in his veins. I did have a bag of trash outside my door Fridayt morning, from the room next door...I don't know if it was housekeeping ( the cart was there) or the people who were in the room, because when the housekeeping cart was gone, the trash was still there. So if you noticed a bag of trash in front of room 474...IT WAS NOT OURS. LOL
It was so nice to save money on eating out with the full kitchen. We had breakfast in the room everyday, and I cooked supper 2 or 3 times during the week. It helped on the checkbook.
I can't decide if I like OKW or BCV better. we stayed at OKW last year with renting. Hubby like BC, but I think I like the tranquility of OKW.
Next trip is in April...I can't wait!
