To be fair, the resort and parks were pretty busy. Arrived December 4th. We had a two bedroom lock-off, in building 64. First issue was the connecting door on the one bedroom side. It either was painted shut, unit had some minor settling, or the door had swelled. I called maintenance and they came right away to open it. He took a photo to turn in for work, and said it would be fixed the next day...it wasn't. While he was there, we also requested a hand held shower in the studio for a friend that had broken his shoulder, it also was not installed. The door was a bit annoying, as we couldn't close the one bedroom side...and it was always ajar. The studio side worked fine. My friend with the shoulder used the shower in the one bedroom side, as they have hand held showers, so no biggie.

Other than the crowds, the trip was great, weather was perfect. Short and T-shirt weather, it turned cool on our departure day. We arrived fairly early, and our room wasn't ready until 4 pm on the dot, but again, the resort was very busy, but that is only the 2nd time our room wasn't ready earlier.

It's really busy right now, too. Buses to AK and DHS around 9am were full with guests standing before we got to Turtle Pond. We're at South Point. The shower head sucks big time in our studio.

What’s wrong with the shower head. Ours seems normal. We’re on Peninsular Road right now. Lots of rain today. We couldn’t go on Test Track. Got through the design vehicle cue and halted for weather.

Did you go to the front desk? I admit that it's a pain, but finally we did (maintenance issues, and overall villa in very poor condition). I wish I could find the card from the man we dealt with. Not only did he have everything attended to promptly, he called us (on his day off) the next day and moved us to a gorgeous one bedroom in an elevator building (which I'd requested at check-in, but didn't get). He also gave us several anytime FP+s and a voucher for dinner. The gentleman really went above and beyond to care for us.

No, the issues weren't substantial enough to do so, just kind of annoying. But the anytime fastpasses would've been nice, as the parks were busy.

This is what is wrong.

It's a rainshower head that isn't positioned over head. It comes out so weak, I could barely rinse the soap off my hair and body. It just kind of dribbled out. They need the standard shower head that is adjustable instead of this one in the shower in the tub.

Another problem is the height of the hand towel ring. It needs to be about three inches higher.

It's nice to have two towel bars on the wall behind the door, but the top one must be 6'3" high. Doesn't work well for shorter people. They could lower the two of them about six to nine inches and they would be better positioned. I'm 5'11" tall and hanging the towel up wasn't easy.

The shelves in the kitchenette are pretty much worthless except for the cups and glasses already on them. It would have been nice to have a place to put the snacks and stuff you brought with you. They could have moved the overhead light out another six inches, added a light under the bottom shelf and you would have a little space to store your food.

I plan on forwarding these photos to Guest Satisfaction.

Our shower is positioned the same, but the water pressure was strong and shoots the water across the tub. I have a similar one at home that the holes are bigger which allow more water out, but with a lot less pressure.

The hand towel ring is the same way at AKV Kidani 2 bedroom. We are in one right now and it drives me nuts that the towel is on the counter like that.

I hated the way the toilet paper roll holder was mounted behind the person seated on the toilet instead next to the person. They could have installed it on the edge of the counter, but installed it on the wall next to the tank. Usually they mount them too low, too, based on how they interpret ADA regulations. They should be at least elbow high when seated, not mounted lower than the edge of the toilet seat.

My husband had an interview sue with the placement of the toilet paper too. He sat the trash can next to the toilet and just drug the TP over the trash can so it kept it pulled out near the toilet.

Two year old thread, however maintenance issues are always a drag - some more than others. We had two peaceful nights at Jambo House and moved to a 2 BR Lock Off at OKW yesterday at 4 pm. (We put our son/DIL up for two nights in a 1 BR Lake at BLT just for a treat since there was availability). They are moving "home" tomorrow.

Make a point to do a thorough walk thru before you move in! We know better but we were exhausted and had lots of stuff to move in (well, my DH moved it at my direction LOL). I finally went in the bath and found the counter area (sink) near the jet tub covered in water and DRIPPING from the ceiling. Maintenance inspected the room above and found water intrusion coming into the ceiling and into our unit (gross). Instead of going to the pool for a sorely needed swim, we were stuck here dealing with maintenance!

It gets better as we have to vacate 9 am - 12 pm today in order that they run all the water upstairs and see what leaks into our unit (gross X2). Now we are losing most of today. I have a very limited physical capacity and something like this doesn't just ruin 3 hours, it ruins most of my day. We can't get our vacation (2 yrs in the planning) back... It sounds like the people above us will get moved.

Take the time to do a walk thru, especially in a large villa. We know better as we are owners since 1996!

We've had water intrusion from the bathtub drain upstairs, many years ago, when staying a studio. Did they offer any compensation? They bought us dinner at Olivia's.

We had wet carpet in the first four feet of the master bedroom. I told maintenance what the problem was when they were there as I am pretty handy (Built houses, wired houses, plumbed houses etc.). He really didn't pay any attention to me. We just put a towel down. The problem was the dishwasher behind the wall. It only got wet after the housekeeper ran it when they were there. It was like that the whole week. When I checked out, they asked me if there was anything wrong and I told them it still wasn't fixed. They didn't do anything then, but when I got home I got a letter from the manager and a one night refund which was about $600 as it was a 2BR with a passholder discount. First floor building 34.

We also found bugs around the kitchen sink yikes! We were moved today to a dedicated 2 BR and our son and DIL (currently at BLT) have a studio and friends (thanks to a fellow disboarder DVC member) also got a studio close to us adjacent to the pool at Miller's Road.

We are being given a two night future stay in a 2 BR dedicated at OKW and will use in May. We were escalated to the highest level and had great interactions with Rodney who can move mountains! We lost 24 hours we can't get back, but stuff happens and they made it right.

Glad you feel satisfied.
Sorry, but I think they got off cheap… they should have Comped this entire stay AND gave u future credit.
you are right …things happen, so now you’re spending even more to return, and no one is promised tomorrow..the “ compensation” should be now , not in the future

but…it’s good you feel ok with the Disney debacle handling.
Hope rest of trip better!
