Hi everyone! :) Just got back today from WDW. We had a great vacation! I'm working on my trip report now, but if anyone has any questions about OKW or YC just let me know. :)

Can't wait to see your trip report. We are 2 1/2 weeks away from 6 nights at OKW and 1 night at the YC. :D

I am so interested in hearing about your stay at the YC. We are going to be there for the very first time in Jan-Feb. Thank you in advance for any and all information you can give us. Everything from the rooms to the transportation to the CM's at the YC. Enjoy and thank you.
:Pinkbounc :bounce: :earseek:

I posted my trip report last night. If anyone has any questions about it just let me know. :)

Yes, it was wonderful! :) The only thing I didn't like was the bus transportation to MK, AK, and DTD. But everything else was perfect. :) The hotel is beautiful, our room was just like new, it couldn't have been better. :)

Oh, one thing I didn't know was that they sell muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, etc., down in the YC lobby in the morning! I had never heard anyone talk about that before and we didn't even notice it until our last morning. :(

Can you tell me why you love OKW so much? I am trying to plan a trip in January and I'm doing it on a budget so I am thinking about renting points again. I can't decide between OKW or VWL? I know you like OKW for the space, but what else do you like about it? I just can't decide:confused: We will be there for 4 nights. This is going to be a trip where we aren't doing the parks much and will be spending more time at the resorts, DD, Boardwalk and so on. I see that you stayed at Westgate Lakes how did you like that? The second part of our trip we will be staying there for 4 nights.

BTW, I can't agree with you more about WDW transportation. I really missed having a car last trip (but, we used Yourride and got Rabbit ~ agree with you on that one, too!).

I read your trip report at lunch time today and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. We'll be at OKW for the first time in a little over two weeks and I can't wait to try it out. We've stayed at DVC Hilton Head and those 2 bedroom units are huge so I am looking forward to comparing OKW with what we had last year at Hilton Head.

Could you tell me more about the bus service? Did you use the walking path to Downtown Disney? Any other details about the resort (pool areas, Olivia's, condition of the room, etc.) would be appreciated.

mirlow - There is something about OKW that makes it very different from any of the other resorts. It's so spread out you feel like you're a million miles away. The landscape is very lush and tropical, like CBR, which even increases the feeling of being away from it all. It's also very relaxing... I love sitting on the balcony and watching the golfers. Or just walking over to the water, stopping in for a drink at the Suitcase. The boat to DTD is really nice too. But the #1 thing is the size of the villas. ;)

Cali-D - It looks like we'll be staying at the GF in April. :) We really need to be close to MK, and we prefer the dining options around the monorail over the Boardwalk area. We'll probably go for lagoon view... maybe Conch Key for a change. :) I'm really looking forward to it. :) Also... now this is top secret!.... dh and I might be heading down after New Year's ALONE to stay at YC for a few days. :) Just a nice romantic getaway without the kids. ;) Oh, and next Thanksgiving I think we're going to rent points again and do OKW. But I'm not sure. ;)

Zeraspride - The bus stops at 5 places inside OKW. The first stop is Pennisular Road, the last stop is the Hospitality House. It takes about 12 minutes for all 5 stops. We decided to get off at the first stop even though it wasn't the closest to our building because we didn't want to ride all the way around the resort. It was kind of a pain, but not too bad. We really wanted building 62, but it wasn't available. We had building 13 which turned out to be very nice, but had no elevator. Our balcony overlooked a fountain and the golf course. It was a nice view.

We used the boat to DTD once. It only takes 13 people at a time, but we lucked out and nobody else was waiting for it. (I didn't know there was a walking path) It was a nice ride over but we had to take the bus back because the last boat leaves at 9:40 pm.

The main pool is very nice, and there is a kiddie pool also. Nothing fancy like zero entry or anything, but it was fine for us. There are other pools around the resort (I think) but we didn't check those out.

Olivia's - check my trip report

The condition of the villa was excellent. They must have been renovated not too long ago because I saw no signs of wear. (and I'm VERY picky) The appliances in the kitchen were just like new, and I love the big fridge! I can't say one bad thing about the villa itself. Really my only complaint was not getting our building with the elevator, and the bus. But after staying at the YC the bus transportation at OKW was fantastic! ;)

Erika - I have one bit of advice.... go to WDW for Thanksgiving next year!!!
dh and I spent last Thanksgiving at WDW, and it was so magical that we decided to make it tradition! this year will be our 2nd annual :)
I'm already goin to book 2003 Thanksgiving any day now!

we also spend the following week at WDW, this way we can stay for MVMCP and all the other holiday festivities which are unbelievable! :)

To me, spending a Holiday at WDW is just so special! :)

(let me know if I've convinced you!!! :))

Laura :)

Yes, we will definitely be down next Thanksgiving. :) There are 24 of us going from dh's family! I think we're all going to stay at OKW and BCV, but I'm not sure. DH mentioned maybe trying the Poly since the renovations might be done by then. ;) It's hard to think about that trip when I've got 2 more to plan before that! ;)

TigrLvsPooh,

*(Oh, one thing I didn't know was that they sell muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, etc., down in the YC lobby in the morning! I had never heard anyone talk about that before and we didn't even notice it until our last morning. )*

I'm glad to hear that they have brought this breakfast back! We've had breakfast many times in this little lounge area instead of B & C. We didn't notice the breakfast on our trip in July, so it must have been re- opened just recently. It makes sense to start it again to give guests another option, now that the BCV's are open.:):D:)

Thanks so much for the additional details. The resort sounds wonderful. I was a bit disappointed that nothing was available for all our days at BCV or BWV but the points to stay at either over a holiday are a real killer so that works out fine with me.

Anyway, it's hard to believe we leave in 15 days. I am really excited about this trip (our first DVC stay)!
