Just back From OKW and BCV. Random Thoughts

Sorry I haven't got back on anything since yesterday but my wife and I have been in London all day having a scan on the expected one- to actually see arms and legs on a child not expected into the world for another 25 weeks sure brings the lump into the throat.
I'm really pleased about the positive replies I have to say that in the past on our return I couldn't face the thought of recounting matters with the pain of not returning for a while! however we have gained so much from everyones posts in the past that it really was time to put something back in - so to speak!
just for completeness sake I should say that our home resort is VWL and we have stayed in both a studio and a 2BR. As regards positives I don't think you can beat the theming and thus inherent atmosphere at the Lodge. There is definately something very very special about the whole experience. You do feel in a different world. The fact that you are touching distance from Mk is again a big plus and being only a boat from MK opens up all of the other Monorail resorts. As per the Bc there are more eating options than at OKW. We found the lay out of the 2BR far superior to that of the BC but nowhere near as spacious as OKW. On both occasions we have been there we have had lovely views over the pool and out to the lake although it doesn't take much imagination to see that some rooks are an awful long way out and basically look out at trees! Oh and no light on the balcony (ming you when me moved the lamp into the window I was bitten to buggery by a myriad of insects) so perhaps the people at WDW know better than me!!! My daughter loved the pool and with the rooms we stayed in it was very convenient. Although the pool is of course nothing like Stormalong Bay. Overall love the Villas and don't regret owning there for a minute.
Going back to the Beach Club for a second I can only reiterate the too many doors point. after putting the lights out I once tried to get into bed in the washer!
We too didn't know who Gideon was and had to make some discrete enquiries! He was brilliant with my daughter. Infact most of our holiday was taken up with as my daughter would have "the creatures!".
one last tip if you get to the Toon town? rope drop at opening time for us it was 10 o clock the Characters come out to greet people my daughter walked hand in hand with both pooh and tigger all the way through to the judges tent (another one of those tear jerk moments!)
Anyway rambling again but seriously if anyone does have any ?ions that I might be able to answer I will do my very best Oh and thanks for all of the best wishes with the expected one**:sunny:

Balance at last. Not this one is far better or that one it, but balance - something somewhere for everyone. Thanks.

And with a tear in my eye, thinking of Gideon remembering your daughter. No matter the room, no matter the location, no matter anything. Those are the moments.

Oh well with baby en route it will be another couple of years before we make our next trip from the Uk. The memories will have to sustain me til then!

This sentence had more than a note of familiarity about it - I was thinking exactly the same after our trip last spring.......now baby is here DD 2months old and we'll be heading over the pond and staying at OKW in May.

My advice...stay away from these boards or you might just find yourself planning another trip sooner than you thought.

Good Luck.

Just a quick note that will only really be of interest to Uk Saint and any other UK people. if you get the chance to fly Virgin Club Atlantic- Do So!! It really made a massive difference to that pesky 8 hour flight!
