1) Been members since 1994 and we love OKW and do not regret buying into DVC, however we have seen a lot of special perks for DVC members come and go. When we received our Member Perks booklets at check in-I was very disappointed to see there are not too many perks anymore. Bummer. You get more perks being an annual park passholder then being a DVC member.

2) Love OKW but did take a tour of SSR and AKR villas. Love the new touches......extra bathroom for a one bedroom and of course the flat screen TVs. I wondering when OKW will get flat screens?

3) Speaking of TVs, boy Disney definitely directs you to the programs they want you to watch on TV. The TV channels are very limited. My husband was going through withdrawal with no Fox and Friends!

4) Will never go back anytime during March or April to chance Spring Break crowds again. Unbelieveable! Too many people for us.

5) Flew from Allentown PA to Sanford/Orlando. What a piece of cake. Great little airport, no major headaches like Orlando International Airport.

All in all great trip. Just wanted to share.:)

Your not the first to mention the crowds at WDW! My spring break comes in March, and I've never noticed the type of crowds that people are mentioning these days.

Did the rental car cost significantly more renting it at Sanford airport?

I really like the models of AKV too!

Someone here posted that even the discount at Hoop dee doo was going away later this year as well. People have been disappointed at the disappearance of DVC discounts at certain restaurants.

I'm glad you did have a good time...what made you try a spring break trip? When do you prefer to go? Did you enjoy the F&G show at Epcot, that's my reason for going very soon, I've got to see the topiaries!!!

Hi!

What airline did you fly? Was it a direct flight or did you have a connection? Did you rent a car?

Nice to hear you had a great time. We usually only end up going to WDW this time of year every 5th year when we celebrate our anniversary and it's always busy. (should of had that October wedding!!) We usually go in January and September which is nice cause crowds are low.

Welcome home!!~

I can't tell you how much we miss Fox when we're at Disney....much agreed!!!!

Which airline took you to Sanford ?

Is there a shuttle that takes to MCO ?

Or did you rent a car ?

:cool1:

Allegiant flies into Sanford. We have twice weekly flights to Sanford and back.

Ditto.
The tv viewing is almost cult-like(okay, exaggerating a bit) but-I mean, we love Disney, that's why we're there, but can't they just have normal cable options. Very annoying that there's no Fox news. Also, I think it's silly that they don't have nickelodeon-okay, I know that guests may actually see an ad for universal or sea world :scared1: if they had Nick, but big Deal! Gimme a break Disney execs, come on.

I'm not sure Sanford would be a possibility from all sites. To go to the Sanford airport, we would have to change planes somewhere, and that is NOT convenient!

FWIW - the few times I've compared car rental prices via Hotwire (MCO vs Sanford) Sanford has been cheaper by about $10 + a day or more for a standard car.

YMMV of course

The lack of variety for tv channels is my one complaint as well. Not that I watch a lot of tv while I'm there but it would be nice to have the option especially if I get sick or just want to spend some time in the room.

I with you on the Fox and Friends withdrawal. I wish there was more selection on TV at WDW. :thumbsup2

I can't imagine wasting time in front of the TV when I am at Disney. I rarely watch it at home (except for news) so I really don't miss any shows.

That's how we found out about DVC on our first trip to WDW. My husband loves his TV and watches all the time. So we always watch the DVC channels at WDW.

Flat panel TV's would be nice at OKW, but since there's hardly any stations to watch, it seems pointless to me. :confused3 We don't watch too much tv at WDW. I suppose you could watch DVD's on it, but I don't think they are hi-def dvd's or players, are they?

On our past Xmas visit we stayed at AKL and BWV. When we arrived at BWV we realized we had more TV choices. I wonder why it would be different?

We toured the AK Villa, too - it was amazing! So amazing that we're wait listing to stay in June even though we won't go to the parks then. DS's 12th birthday is in June and that's what he has asked to do for his b'day. So we'll see if we can get a 1 BR unit.

When the kids were little, the ONLY channel they would watch at Disney was the Top 7 Must Sees... but then they changed hosts from Chrissa to Stacy and they don't like it any more. Although they do still remember the guy with the yellow shirt and black hair that was hopping all over - talking about park hoppers, etc. Now they just flip to Disney Channel for their favorite shows.

I used to not understand watching t.v. while at WDW, but now that we actually spend more time in our room (villa!) as DVC owners, there are some programs that we like to catch at home that we'll watch when we are on vacation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that WDW set attendance records for this time period; there were definitely more people there this year than last.

Glad you had a good trip!

My sister just flew in and out of Sanford from Allentown, PA. She said her rental was $200 for a Taurus for the week. She used U-Save Rent a Car. She said she always uses them. That seemed like a good deal to me since we just paid $325 with Hertz when we went to NJ for Easter week.
