We just returned Friday from our first Summer visit. Our second stay at BWV and our third stay at the Cont.

So far I've gotten my only request both times staying at BWV. Both times I asked for 'near elevator' and got my request!! Very happy. Both times in Cont Tower asked for MK view, got it both times. I'm thankful.

At BWV, I have no complaints on the bus transportation but was not too pleased with the boats from MGM to BWV. Waited almost an hour one afternoon. Same after Fantasmic.

I had a CRT PS for 8:20a on Sunday and got the bus (empty) at 7:00a and made it in plenty of time.

I was disappointed that the Contemporary elevators do not have characters talking anymore...bummer.

I also have a few maintenance problems in my room at the Contemporary. Safe lock broken, alarm clock broke, TV remote didn't always work and same with the phone. The balcony could use a paint job too. But I still LOVE this resort and hope the rumors are true!

All in all another great Disney trip even with the heat and crowds!!

If your feet aren't too tired and you're not too hot it's a 15 minute walk from MGM to BWV.

Yes, I know but we were VERY tired and it was pooring rain, not to mention the heat.

has WDW cut the boats back?

there use to have two boats going to each park - they had changed the routes before - make one boat do both parks - but I thought do to complaints they had changed it back?

maybe in the afternoon they go back to that system - when everyone has to eat - between 11am and 2pm....

The boats sometimes do not run when there's a storm. Maybe the water gets too choppy. One time we were directed over to a bus during a storm.

Anytime I have stayed at BWV in the past 4 years, the boats made a continous loop between Epcot & MGM. Epcot-BW-YC/BC-S/D-MGM-S/D-YC/BC-BW-Epcot.

Seems you did the same thing we did two weeks ago. My first trip at BWV tho and first time at CR. Loved both!! What type room did you have at BWV and where was it located? We were in 5063, a studio, but have a one bedroom for Thanksgiving time. Got a preferred garden/pool view. They did note on our request that we had a village green view, facing Epcot last time and loved it. Maybe magic will happen twice.
When we were at the CR, I refused to take the elevators (good thing we were in the north wing!!) since I miss the voices. We used only the stairs or escalator. But, we loved it there otherwise. Dd wanted to try out the pool there but we couldn't due to Charley. But everything else was wonderful.
As far as the boats go, we used them once from MGM back to BWV. But, we lucked out since they saw us coming and held the boat for us!!! But used it several times from Epcot. We never waited too long. Guess we must have hit it right every time. And we didn't find using the bus for MK too bad. Yes, it was a long ride if we had to stop at Y/BC besides the Swan and Dolphin resorts. But, if I was sitting down, I really didn't care too much.

Yeah, I had a feeling it was due to the storm. It was raining, and thundering and lighting...I wouldn't want to walk in that either though!;)

How funny!

We were in a one bedroom on the 4th floor. I believe it was #4075. Very close to the elevators and very close to the room we had last year!

I wrote a letter expressing my disappointment in the character voices being gone. I would have complained there but thought they were just broken and then read on the Resort board that it was a decision by the higher ups to discontinue it...that is wasn't professional?? So I wrote the letter.

Yes, I do think the boats are hit or miss. I wish they were faster and ran more often though. They are SO slow and cover 3 resorts and 2 parks. That is why they are hit or miss and take forever.

I took the Cont boat to WLV and it was so fast! What a difference.
