Had a great weekend. We stayed at the Radisson. Any questions while the trip is still fresh in our minds?

<font color=navy>Glad you guys had fun - did you ride Xcelerator? (our company's having a picnic next weekend there, & I'm thinking of going on that ride).

How did you like Soak City?

How as the park??? What rides did you like??? Did you go on ghostrider??? What eating places are good??? We are going there this Dec for the first time so any helpful hints would be appreciated!!

<font color=navy>Ghostrider is probably my favorite coaster ride here. It is so much fun!!!

There are a few places to eat, that I can think of at Knotts...

Mrs. Knotts Chicken Restaurant - this is very famous, and expect a line at traditional meal times.

Across from Ghostrider there is a restaurant that sells all you can eat spaghetti, pizza, salad & beverages -- it's a nice sit-down restaurant & I enjoyed eating there.

In the ghost town area there is a little restaurant - looked nice from the outside, but I never tried it there.

There is also an outdoor barbecue type 'restaurant' -- we've eaten there, and the food is pretty good.

Mexican food w/typical Mexican fare at the Mexican part of Knotts.

The restaurant in Ghost Town was probably The Ghost Town Grill. Good place to relax in the heat. One reason we like it is the standard restaurant policy of allowing free refills on drinks. You can go broke paying for drinks in an amusement park, so this is one way of getting your money's worth. Same policy at the italian restaurant next to Ghost Rider.

Actually, Ghostown Grill doesn't sell that stuff, and it is further up the "street." The one that sells pizza & salads and stuff is Auntie Pasta's Pizza. They also have a really great deal for a family of 4 there....pay $19.95 and get all you can eat pizza, breadsticks, pasta, and salad. Pretty good food, but not the best ever, but a good price.

I enjoyed the Radisson and the location was great. I found a rate of $98 on a Saturday night. When we checked in, the kids were given a snoopy bucket, cookies and a cup. The cup included free refills at the hotel, Knott's Soak City and Knott's Berry Farm. The refillable cup saved us lots of money. Also included was a coupon to fill the bucket with popcorn at Camp Snoopy within Knott's Berry Farm (although a very nice man filled it for us elsewhere). The walk to Knott's was about 5 minutes to the theme park and about 10 minutes to Soak City. Our room had 2 Queen beds and we had a view of the courtyard and Ghostrider. We heard no noise from the rollercoaster. The Radisson is located in a corner of the theme park.

Knott's Soak City USA was PACKED. We used after 3 pm discount tickets from Burger King and paid $9.95 per person. We went on Saturday and I was told from a lifeguard that a crowd of 5000 was the norm. The wait time for the slides was 15 - 40 minutes. On the lazy river, you must stay IN your tube at all times. My kids were not too happy about that rule. (Our local water park does not have that rule nor do the Disney water parks we have visited.) At 7 pm the park was still full. The wave pool and the slides were closed at various times due to "floaters". We all decided that person did not have a very fun job. ;) The highlight of the afternoon was the barbeque ribs.

We ate dinner at Mrs. Knotts's Chicken Dinner Place. The wait was about an hour. The food was yummy and plentiful. DH and DS had the traditional fried chicken, I had the broiled chicken breast and DD had the chicken tender meal. Our meals included soup AND salad, biscuits, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy (mine came with red skin and no gravy), corn and dessert. The kids' meal also included a drink. Beer and wine is available. Our entire bill was $40.59. We left stuffed.

I will write about how we ate our way through the theme park later. :)

I never saw so much food as what we were served at Mrs Knott's Family Restaurant. We ate there before we got the after 4 discounted park tickets (didn't have much time) and the restaurant was packed.

I was at Knott's with a wary 9 year old so I didn't get to ride Ghostrider. I loved all of the things I did with my son though like the train, stagecoach, boat, etc. Knott's is such a fun mixture of new and historic. My son was particularly intrigued by the haunted stagecoach and the grave with the beating heart. :D

We were at Knott's for the first time on Mon. We went at 11:00 am to get the chicken (we didn't eat breakfast). We were served right away. Great food. We took some chicken legs back to our hotel for supper (they were .60 each).
