We recently just got back from 2 weeks at our DVC accommodation in Kidani Village. We had two weeks of great weather, food and fun.

View from the balcony, 2nd floor, 1 bed Room 7242 (i think!)

We flew with VA from Gatwick and stayed in the Hilton the night before for a painless journey over to the terminal. We used the Vroom and a full flight left on time.

Arrived on time in Orlando, we had completed online checkin for ALAMO so headed straight to the garage to collect the car and headed to AKV. On arrival the computers were down and I had a 40 min wait to check in. I was determined not to start the holiday annoyed so did not make a fuss. the front desk were very apologetic and eventually got us the room keys. A few days later i noticed a $50 credit to the room for 'Guest Inconvenience' - Nice touch!

We had quite a few ADR,s including the CG, CP, BD, KC, Chef De France, Akershus, Ohana, H&V and Jiko. We also made a brave attempt at eating our way around the world at EPCOTs food and wine!

Food and service were good at all the restaurants with the exception of the service and H&V which was very poor, this was a character breakfast. Characters and food was fine the waitress was abysmal! only got 1 cup of coffee, asked for another neither the waitress or the coffee ever came back to the table!

Oh it looks so amazing!!

Thought I was finally happy with CSR for our trip... Now I'm debating again!! :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a great time and nice that you were given 50 dollars. Love the photos

A few Highs and Lows!

Lows First!

1. Gatwick Hilton told me on arrival that I had canceled my 16 days parking and family room and that I had rebooked a single room with no parking for 1 guest!! I had to point out that as I had turned up with my Car, Family and the need for 3 beds it was highly unlikely I had canceled it!! It was sorted after a 20 min discussion.

2. 30-40 minuted delay in checking in at Kidani - Computers Down! (Handled much better than Hilton staff handled its own reservation error)

3. Poor Waitress Service at Hollywood and Vine, Which when your paying a $100 for breakfast is a hard pill to swallow!

4. Virgin Atlantic - a 50 minute wait to get to the front of the line at DTD checkin on our last day, to be told we could not sit together, DW and the Children had a row of three, I had to sit behind them. This counts as sitting together as per VA policy I was told at Orlando! I was told to ask again at the airport if we could be reassigned seats together, but the guy at MCO looked at me stupid and said DTD gets to the allocation first, so if they can't do it, there's no chance of changing it at the airport later. This seating arrangement with two young children is difficult. The flight was completely full and I saw other families in the same situation.

Highs!

1. Great weather for the two weeks.
2. Fantastic location at Kidani, great savannah views from the second floor (same level as the lobby) and not to far from a lift for the car park.
3. We had some great food, the CG and Jiko stand out.
4. Always love the shopping and atmosphere at the Mall at millennia
5. Parks not too busy, except at Parade times.
6. Children loved Simbas Cub House at AKL, this gave us time to have a drink and relax without the children on a couple of occasions.
7. Pool at Kidani and the Children's wet play area was good.
8. Talking with Remy at Chefs de France, kids loved this and the cast member was hilarious!
