We stayed at Kidani 8/22-29 and just LOVED it!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom standard view (which didn't bother us at all) ..we were in room 7811 (and 7809 they gave us a lock-off, again not a probem)..it was the first section (if you are looking at the lobby from the outside) to the left of the lobby, 4th floor. The room was beautiful, having 3 full bathrooms was wonderful with myself, my husband and our 3 daughters'. The pool area was great and my girls loved the daily pool parties. We rented a car for one day and my DH went grocery shopping..so not having counter service was no big deal for us. The bus service was great and ony had a long wait twice (both times for Holywood studios...about 35 minutes and 30 minutes)
The staff was SOO friendly and the resort is just beautiful...and SOOOO much less crowded and more relaxing than Jambo (IMO)
My 8 yo said although she loves SSR, she would stay here everytime..lol It was my DH's favorite DVC and i think it may have been mine..my other 2 girls are so easy going, it doesn't matter where they stay as long as they are in WDW :hippie:

It sounds as if you had a great time! We loved Kidani as well, and our DGC also enjoyed the pool activities.

Did you have a dedicated 2 bedroom reserved? I'm glad your lock off worked fine for you, but I wonder what happened if you were supposed to get a dedicated. When we travel with the family, we really need "dedicated."

:) We are going for our first trip in less than 2 months. We have 2 studios with a SV reserved. I am glad you had a great time!!

I did ask for a dedicated, but the lock-off was ready first and the location was where i requested (close to the lobby). It wasn't bad..my girls' thought it was cool that they had their own room..we just put the coffee tables and stroller in front of the door in the studio side.

We are going in Nov, cant wait! - we have a dedicated 2 bed booked. Hope the lack of counter service wont be too big a deal. Looking forward to letting DS (2) and DD (4) play in the interactive water area!

We had a ded 2-bedroom standard view several weeks ago---LOVED IT!!! We had room 7519---first room from the elevator, which was fabulous since my parents (79) were with us, and I didn't want to waste their valuable energy walking down loooooooong corridors.

We loved AKL so much, yesterday I booked a long weekend in November! We had three weekend dates in mind, but chose the only one that had a 2 bdr at AKL/Kidani available. This time we're going with a different group of people, and we're leaving the kids behind!

We had the best bus experiences we've ever had. Several times, I kid you not, the bus was waiting for us as we walked up. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did. It's an amazing property. We're now considering an add-on for AKL.

Ariel that's awesome!

We have a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view close to lobby requested and a one bedroom standard view as well for friends! We just got back from SSR and visited the Kidani model and I can't wait! 8 months to gooooo!

Glad you had such a nice trip! We also loved our stay at Kidani-we have a 5 night stay at BLT booked for March, but I see all our stays after that at AKV-we walked several times to Mara and didn't mind it-we were on the savanna but closer to Jambo-it ended up being a 5 minute walk.

Glad to hear you had a great time. We're headed off to Kidani (two bedroom savanna view- not sure if it's dedicated or not) next week. Only three days there before a cruise, and two at CSR because dh wanted to stay there with the military discount.

We don't know what location to request, so we'll just trust to luck, which has been pretty good so far. All of these reviews are making me very excited.

We stayed at Kidani back in late-June/early-July and loved it also. I have a trip report (link in sig) in progress if anyone would like to check it out. There are lots of pics of the room (page 5), Sanaa (page 6), and the resort (pages 14 and 15).

We love Kidani, too. In June we had a dedicated 2BR and something I really liked was the continuous balcony, stretching from the master bedroom, past the living room and over to the 2nd bedroom.

We also loved our stay at Kidani and look forward to going back. I agree with everything that was said about the relaxing atmosphere and wonderful cast members. We ate a light breakfast in our studio and didn't miss a counter service restaurant at all. We had both a dinner and lunch at Sanaa and enjoyed both the food and the great view of the animals on the savannah. In our opinion Kidani is a quiet little gem.

Me and My son are staying in Kidani for his Birthday trip in May -- Studio / Savannah View --- I haven't stayed at Animal Kingdom since 2004 and that wasn't with DVC .... I wouldn't have even known about the difference between DVC Kidani and the top floors at Jambo House if someone else hadn't told Me that they would have much rather been at Kidani ... So, We're so excited!

We are heading down in Jan. We can't wait. Nothing like wishing the summer away so can go to WDW!!!!
