last minute spontanious trip. Hasnt changed much since I've been there last, about 2 years ago. Everything like I remembered, down to the smoked salmon and capers at the breakfast buffet ($15.99 adults). Had a 10th floor room, east tower with Epcot fieworks view. I was so close to the main elevators that we could go from pool to restaurants to room lickedy split. Felt like I was at a resort 1/4 the size. When I checked in Friday 5/23 3pm, the resort seemed very sparcely occupied. No one at front desk except me and 1 other person. The timeshare pushers in the lobby were pretty subdued and well behaved. Pool area just as nice as I remember it. Shuttle to parking garage was very quick, waited less than 4 mins both coming and going. Didnt try any fancy restaurants other than Solaris and the food court. Any Q's ?? I'll try to answer........

It took me a second to figure out what MOWC was, but once I did, I have to whole-heartedly agree with you. We stayed there over New Year's, had a North Tower room. I couldn't tell you what kind of view we had, other than that of the parking lot, but that was really a secondary concern. This hotel is so comfy and clean and, well, just relaxing. I love it, and would stay again in a second.

When I was there, the resort was packed, but everything you described was the same...service at the front desk was quick and friendly, the shuttle to the parking garage was quick, and I didn't even notice the timeshare people!

Can't wait to go back! This is all making me very homesick! Disney is my second home, of course.

Haven't stayed here since July 2000. Back then there was a small parking lot near the North Tower. Can this still be used, or are you required to use the parking garage?

Also, I didn't pay a resort fee back then. Is this still true? If not, how much is the resort fee, and what does it include? Are you charged for parking (if so, how much), or is it included in the resort fee?

TIA for answering my questions. :) I really enjoyed my stay at the MOWC, and just want to be prepared if I should happen to win a stay here again via Priceline.

Perhaps I am a little muddled - can you please tell me more about parking. There is valet parking for a fee, right? Is there self-parking? Is there also a fee for that? Is it in a garage, or a lot, or both? Is there a shuttle to the parking area for self-parkers?

I didn't realize that you could be close enough to see fireworks!

Thanks -
Maddle

What a beautiful resort. We stayed there during easter break. It was a spur of the moment trip & didn't want to do the disney thing. We just wanted to relax after a horrible winter. We originally were to stay at the Caribe Royale. It looked nice, but I had paid for a poolview and they were giving me aparking lot view, after complaining, they "upgraded" us to a roof view. Needless to say, I demanded my money back & ran. We stopped at MOWC to see how this resort was. When I first say it, it was so beautiful that I thought it was going to be $$$$. WELL, was I wrong. We got a BEAUTIFUL room in the mail building, facing the pool with a large balcony for something like $164.00 per night, breakfast included and they waived the parking fee. Supposedly there is a $6.00 self parking fee. We parked in the garage which is a small walk to the lobby, maybe around 5 min. or so. I have to say the pool is one of the most beautiful pools I've ever seen. Talk about large and tropical looking. My dd had the best time in that pool.(so did I and dh). REading a book, soaking up the sun and having the waiter bring a drink or two....oh, the memories. We loved the place, the breakfast buffet was wonderful, the room, large & clean and the staff was helpful & friendly. We're going back in July after a weeks stay at the GF. I can't wait. I now joined the marriotts reward club and am getting the same type of poolview room w/breakfast included even cheaper. Its a great place & you can't beat the price.

some answers............

I booked directly thru the hotel at $119/night as was not billed any resort fees. Just $119 + $12 in sales & local bed taxes.

The parking garage is $5/day for registered guests, $7/day for non-guests/visitors.

Valet is $14/day, for everyone, IIRC. If there's an outdoor lot out back for free, I didnt notice how to get to it but I didnt look very hard either.

Thanks, Steve for all your answers.

I consider the view from the balcony of the top floor room we had at the MOWC to be the best of Disney. Every morning (and evening) I could look out over my "kingdom";)

MOWC stands for Marriott Orlando World Center. It is not far from 192, off of Osceola Parkway. Huge and beautiful.

From what I remember, the parking lot behind the North Tower was free, though we were never able to use it (crowded while we were there.)

Jason, to get to it, it's on rt. 536, the entrance is across the street and just south of Holiday Inn family suites.
