Just back from 11 nights at WDW and Universal.

2 nights at HIFS, 5 nights at BWV, and 4 nights at HRH Club Level.

We LOVED this resort!!!

We were very happy with our room! It was small after staying at the other 2 resorts but plenty of space for the 5 of us.

We were in room 7069 and overlooked the valet/check-in area as well as a small section of US.

We rented a cabana 2 of the 4 days and had a bit of a problem with this, but nothing major :)

If you have any questions about HRH, I'd be happy to answer them.

Teresa

Could you please let us know what the problems were with the cabana? Are they still offering it at 1/2 price for club level guests? We are also going to have 5 in a club level room, did you have to use a rollaway or was there a sofa bed? Thanks so much for the info!

The problem the first day was when we arrived at the Cabana, someone else had been using it (I don't know how none of the attendents noticed?) It was a mess, sand on all the seats, dirty cups, towels, ect. I picked everything up and the staff at HRH came and took it away and offered to get new towels (but we already had picked some up) and checked to make sure the frig was properly stocked.

This was cabana 8 and the price was $45 for the enitre day (club level price)

Yesterday we had cabana 7, which is the yellow sub cabana. Normally rents for $100 but is $70 for club level.

When I booked this cabana I was told that it comes with 4 floats (they normally rent for $10 each a day), a refill on drinks and some snack for lunch. When I went to check in at the fitness center the girl (very sweet, but completely clueless, she just kind of stared at us like we were speaking another language) had no idea about the floats or what exactly we were supposed to get ect. So out comes her supervisor. She tells me the snack is a fruit bowl and that we only get 2 floats. They only give out 4 floats for that cabana during the slow winter period. Now....obviously when I booked they told me 4 floats, how else would I have known about the 4??? She sat an argued with me until she realized I wasn't going away until she gave me the 4. I explained to her I only wanted what I was promised, nothing more but certainly nothing less. We did receive our fruit bowl after a couple of hours, but never received a refill on our drinks. This wasn't a big deal for us since we had access to the soda/water in the club lounge anyway. However, it should have been double stocked to begin with. There is plenty of room in the generous sized refrigerator to fit all of it.

Like I said in my first post, nothing major, just a little annoying :).

I definitely recommend renting one, we loved having ours! It was so relaxing. A great way to get out of the hot sun too!

For us, the roll away wasn't necessary. Our 2 year old sleeps with DH and I anyway. And our other DD and my MIL slept in the other bed.

There are two chairs and a small table, plus another larger chair in the room. No room for a sofa bed. The room is small, but looks spacious. It also has plenty of drawer space for storage.

Thanks so much for the helpful reply! Do you think would have been room for a rollaway if you had needed one? The reservation lady told me 5 were allowed even with the ages of my kids (8,10,12) but now I am begining to wonder :)

We'll be at HRH in a couple weeks, and there will be 5 of us too. We're bringing our own twin size Aero Bed that travels well, goes up in less than a minute and comes down just as quickly. Do you think there will be enough room for a twin sized air mattress? I'm assuming that if there is enough room to put a rollaway bed in, there should be room for this Aero bed. Anyone else ever bring their own Aerobed to set up and take down each day?

we always bring the air mattress. It is better than a bad cot! We stayed at HRH last year and we brought the Aero with us and had no problem. I put it at the foot of one of the beds- when the kids awoke, I deflated it and got it out of the way, no problem. We take ours always. I know that way they have a good night sleep. We are taking ours again in 7 days!

Taylor 1293,
Was there much of a difference between the 2 cabanas, since one was more money that the other? I rented one for November, and am staying on Club Level, was told the price was75.00.

The cabanas are identical with the exception of the theme/coloring of cabana #7.

If I were to do it again, and I were staying on the club level, I probably wouldn't rent the yellow submarine one. Simply because the fruit bowl and refill of drinks have no value if staying on the club level. Those items are available at no charge all day long.

However, if you plan to rent at least 2 floats then the yellow sub one would be worth it, IMO.

Teresa

How do you rent a cabana? Call the reservation number? I've never heard about this before, thanks!

Call the hotel directly and ask for the fitness center at the hard rock.

They can reserve it for you :)

Hi.. can you tell us about your 4 days of lounge offerings?

Food, drinks, desserts?

Also - did you have turndown service every night?

>>^..^<<

Breakfast each morning consisted of donuts, bagels, fruit, toast and cereal.

All day long soda, water, and fruit are available in the lounge.

The evening offerings (from 5-7) change a little each night.

There is always wine and beer from 5-7.

The first night we were there they had: chips, salsa, cheese cubes, veggies and dip, and some sort of mexican meat in a shell (bite-size). Very good!

The second night - chips, cheese cubes, veggies and dip, and some cold chicken on a stick (didn't care for this, nor did anyone in my room)

The third night - cheese cubes, veggies and dip, pasta salad, and meatballs. Very good this night also!

The fourth night - I have no idea because we missed it :(

From 8:30 - 9:30 they have cookies and milk. Everyone in the room loved this! The cookies changed a little each night. On the last night we even had brownies :).

Yes, they do turndown everynight. It was around 6:00 - 8:00 each night. The housekeeper who does the turndown leaves little toys (beaded braclet, pens ect) for the children.

Housekeeping during the day was also wonderful! They always arranged our stuffed animals/toys in cute positions on the bed.

If you don't mind how much more is club level!!!
and in your opinion would rather have a Deluxe room at 500 sq ft or the Club Level...

thanks!!

The food/drink offerings are much more important to our family than the extra 150 or so square feet!

Including tax it was $230.93 a night. Worth every penny IMO :)

Hope that helps you in making your decision :)

Does the rate quoted on Hotel Kingdom include tax? I've looked around the site and can't find the details. Bottom line is what I'm looking for. Do you just multiply the daily rate times the number of days to get your total or are there additional fees? I want to do a comparison.

Also, I'm taking my 16 year old & his 15 year old friend. I currently have the $125 entertainment rate (~$140 with tax). Would Club level be worth the extra ~$100 per day? Would they find enough to eat if they used club level for dinner? The breakfast would be a definite time saver and the all day drinks would be great but I believe they'll want to stay in the parks most of the day and will return kicking and screaming.

As my son gets older it's harder to convince him to vacation with 'dear old mom'. I'd really like to make this a blow-out trip for them. I'm thinking about renting limo transportation instead of a town car. Just want them to have something to write about when they do their "what I did for my summer vacation" essays!

Thanks for any help and all opinions welcome.

Carolyn

If you click the "how to pay" icon in the form of a yellow smiley face you will see each hotels requirements. I looked up RPR and here is what it says:

Rates are quoted in US dollars and do not include tax. For this hotel the tax rate is 11.5%. All rates are quoted per room per night and are subject to space availability. There may be an additional resort fee (please see below). All rooms are run of the house. Children 17 and under are free in adult's room when no extra bedding is required. All rooms are run of the house. Roll-away Bed: $25 per night plus tax. Refrigerator: $15 per night plus tax. In-room Safe: Complimentary. Local Calls: $.75 for the first 15 minutes and $.05 per minute after plus tax.

You didnt say which property you were pricing. Is the $125.00 rate for a standard room?

I remember when I turned 16 and didnt want to take "family vacations" anymore! What a dope I was! I will HATE when that day comes with my boys. :( I hope you enjoy to the fullest and the kids do too so they want to go again;)

* I just read the thread title ( I guess I should have done that first!). $125.00 a day at HRH is great!

Wow, what a quick reply. I kept looking for the "how to pay" button but couldn't find it. I'm excited about the $125 rate but am now trying to figure out if I should upgrade. I can never stop planning a trip.

Have you stayed club level? Do you have an opinion regarding the extra cost vs extra benefit?

Carolyn

We always seem to have to choose between club and suite and the extra space wins out every time for us. Just once a suite on club level would be nice! LOL Not asking for too much right:p

So although I cant compare the standard room to club level I can tell you the room size would be the same. On club level you would have access to water/soda all day as well as continental breakfast daily and a snack around meal time. I have heard many people say it is not enough to make a meal out of and I would think 16 year old boys would need even more! The other aside you mentioned is trying to get them out of the parks to go back to partake in the meal offerings. If it were me I would take the cheaper room rate, stay in the parks and grab something cheap! That $100 a day difference can buy a nice meal! Take a cooler for water and drinks and that solves that. I'm sure you will get others to chime in on this that will be of more help in the comparison.:)
