DH and I just got back from Houston last night. First trip to Texas. We were only there for 4 days and it turned out DH had to work more than he originally thought. So I spent the days at the hotel pool. We were able to drive around a little. And we did visit the Kemah Boardwalk and Downtown Houston. We ate at papasittas(sp?) , good place :D , the Kemah crabhouse and Saltgreens, all good places. The people were very polite and friendly, I noticed. But the traffic and the way people drive is horrendous. Sheesh! And it was hot, hot, hot. And I was told it will get worse. We'll be back at the end of June, hopefully I'll get to visit the Galleria. ;) I'm trying to talk DH into taking DS(6) on the next trip. I noticed there is alot for his age to do there.

Glad you enjoyed Houston. :) I am from there, and will probably move back there in a year or so. I do NOT miss the heat there in the summer tho.

There are so many things you can take your kids to do in Houston,, The Children's Museum, the Zoo, and the Museum of Natural Science/Cockerell Butterfly exhibit, are all close together.

Did you eat at Aquarium on the Kemah boardwalk? That is a great place to take your DS. The hotel there is nice as well, and I am sure you saw the boardwalk part, with the rides and such.

Further south in Galveston, there is the Moody Gardens,, where they have a really kewl manmade beach, it's more of a sandy swimming pool really, but it's still a nice day out. You could spend two days there just checking out the different pyramids and their exhibits. My hubby says it reminds him of EPCOT.

Then there is NASA.

I think definately take your son :)

It's been very hot recently, that's for sure. I'll be down there in July for my son's wedding and I expect it will be even hotter then.

The traffic is terrible in Houston but I love my hometown :)

Glad you enjoyed it here. Sorry we can't control the temperature, as that is the worst thing about Houston. I thought you'd enjoy the Kemah Boardwalk.

Glad you had a good time! I love Houston, I got to go for a weekend in May for a graduation. DH's aunt, uncle and cousin live there, and I love to visit! You're right though, the traffic definitely is something else, but not so bad when I'm not the one driving. ;)

We were there last year and loved it!!

I especially loved the Galleria Mall...OMG...Next time I am staying in the hotel inside there!!

So clean and uncluttered with all the building signs at ground level. The skyline was very pretty.

Hope I go back someday...
