Honeymoon Pre-trip Report

Cast of Characters:
Bob – My husband to be (at the time of writing this):groom:
Me – Bride to be (Jodi) :bride:

This will be my second trip to WDW, the 4th trip for Bob, my first trip to WDW was with Bob in October of 2003 – that is the trip where we got engaged.

This trip, of course, we will be celebrating our honeymoon! We will be getting married in CT on October 29th – The wedding reception is entirely Mickey and Minnie themed ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo (as much as I would have loved to get married in Disney, we just didn’t have the money to do so, so FI and I decided to at least have a Disney theme). I hope everyone there enjoys the theme as much as we enjoyed putting this together.

After the reception we will be on our way to Bradley Int’l Airport – we’re staying overnight and then taking a flight early in the morning to Disney World :goodvibes .

Here is our itinerary (we have a lot more planned than what I thought):

Checking in to POFQ on October 30th (AAA, has put in the request for a water view room and have made a note that we will be on our honeymoon). We don’t have anything planned for this day because we figured we will be tired from the day before and taking the earliest flight to Florida.

October 31st – early a.m. Magic Kingdom honeymoon photo session, booked through Disney Photography, it’s kind of funny I had given this last year as a gift to Bob (but I will tell this story at a later time).
6:00p.m. – Tony’s Town Square
7:00p.m. – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party

November 1st
– early a.m. Disney Studios honeymoon photo session (through Disney Photography)
4:20p.m. – Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic Package)

November 2nd – 8:15 a.m. – Keys to the Kingdom tour
8:00p.m. – Spirit of Aloha Dinner show.

November 3rd – 7:00a.m. – Chef Mickey
early a.m. – Epcot honeymoon photo session (through Disney Photography)
8:50p.m. – LeCellier

November 4th – 8:50 a.m. – 1900 Park Fare

November 5th – 9:40 a.m. – Cinderella’s Royal Table
9:00p.m. – LaNouba

November 6th – 9:25a.m. – Crystal Palace
7:30p.m. – Medieval Times Dinner

November 7th – 5:05p.m. – Cinderella’s Royal Table

November 8th – 9:30a.m. – Kona Café

During the trip - I also have a surprise planned for my FI.......more about that later (I have to have something to talk about in the upcoming month).

Until next time,

Jodi :bride:

Thanks Tracy :)

You have no idea how nervous I am already - time really does go by fast when you are planning the wedding, honeymoon, etc. I'm really excited about the honeymoon.....the wedding I am just really nervous about but I have a great MOH, so I know she will keep me laughing. :goodvibes

All the best to you and your fiance! I hope you have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon. Your plans sound great, too! I am from Connecticut and have now relocated to Florida, and want to wish you and your soon to be husband a life filled with joy. Try and post details about your disney themed wedding!

Well, we are getting married October 29th - here is the invitation that we chose http://www.invitationconsultants.com/ocatalog2/invitation.asp?p_invitationitem=KPN7804.

Beside, the invitation I have also have a garter belt (eventhough, I'm not going to throw it) with Mickey and Minnie the fabric is the color of our wedding off-white and periwinkle.

We already spoke to the cake maker and in addition to our topper being Mickey and Minnie, we will also have Mickey icons frosted onto the cake.

The wedding party will be coming into the reception with the Sorcerer's Apprentice's music, once that is done our first dane together will be to "So this is Love."

Our favors are also going to be Mickey and Minnie shaped chocolates that we will be making ourselves.....OMG - we still have to buy the chocolate!!!

So do you think that is too much Disney? Bob says that I am obsessed!!! I don't know what he's talking about :confused3 .

Almost forgot.....I will be wearing Mickey Icon - earrings....I was going to wear the necklace too but decided to wear a heart.

Just curious - what part of Connecticut where you from?

Thank you for all of your well wishes! :goodvibes

I grew up in Orange and Woodbridge, near New Haven. I love CT and miss it, especially the fall weather! You picked the perfect time to get married there. Where are you from?

Wow - I'm not too far away from where you grew up. I currently live in Milford, but grew up in Stratford.

I, like you, love the Fall weather, that's the major reason that we picked October but we also picked the date because it near the time Bob proposed (in 2003) - He actually asked on the 28th, that would have been a Friday this year - so we opted for the 29th  .

I love Milford. I spent many a day at the town's beautiful beaches. Also, I took the train to NYC from the Milford station for almost a year (while I saved for my nyc apartment!). And my first job was at the Milford Post mall (when it was not enclosed...which shows how old I am). I used to go to Stratford all the time when I worked college summers at People's Savings Bank. Memories....

I can't wait to hear more about your upcoming wedding and honeymoon. I loved the picture of the invites! By the way, you are lucky your husband to be loves WDW. I had to convince my husband that he loves it, but after 3 kids he truly does. We are headed there for an adults only weekend in a few weeks!

I remember when the mall was not enclosed.....my mother is totally amazed when I said something about it one day because I was only about 4 when it was like that......You would be amazed at the expansion of the mall now - they have a couple of garages and the old movie theatre was knocked down -they are in the process of building another movie thearte which will be inside of the mall. Amazing!

Excellent - have a wonderful stay. Are you staying on property?

Your disneymoon sounds GR8!!! can't wait to hear about your trip.

Good luck and congrats in advance.

ps-- doesn't matter what everyone else thinks about the mickey and minnie things-- as long as you and your husband to be like it ;)

Remember how I said:
October 31st – early a.m. Magic Kingdom honeymoon photo session, booked through Disney Photography, it’s kind of funny I had given this last year as a gift to Bob (but I will tell this story at a later time).

Well, we have been planning our trip for over a year - close to two years. Last summer I got into talks with the Disney Photographic team about doing a honeymoon session......only problem is I couldn't figure out which park I wanted the most - I am in love with the Magic Kingdom and MGM (Disney Studios). So I decided to do both and give these sessions as a gift to Bob (He loves pictures and I really hate to have my picture taken, so I thought it would be a real treat to him).

I had asked the team at Disney Photography if it was possible to get a couple of certificates to give to my husband to be and they came through. Little did I know, Bob was doing some planning of his own.

In October, we had gone to Salem for a weekend trip - Salem is another one of our favorite places. So before he woke up I left the certificate for our honeymoon session (Magic Kingdom) on the nightstand at the Bed and Breakfast and went off to take my morning shower.

When getting out of the shower, Bob had opened up the envelope, and didn't look as tickled pink as I thought he would have been :guilty: , so I asked him "well, aren't you excited about the Disney photos?" Well, he was but he had planned the same thing for me and was going to give it as my birthday present (oh did I mention this was his birthday present - I just gave it to him early?) Eversince, he has joked about I stole his idea and I better not do that for the wedding gift :confused3 but the truth is I started to plan way before he did.

Well, there was one problem - what to do with the session that Bob booked. He had also scheduled for the same date and same park. Knowing how much I also love MGM, he said well how about I just rebook there? Ummmmm......(very awkward moment here - should I tell him that is Christmas present?). "No honey, why don't we do EPCOT or Animal Kingdom?" So then he seems really confused but I thought that you really like MGM? Okay, now I had to blow my Christmas gift too! "Well, I already booked for that and I am giving it to you as a Christmas gift."

Now he's really upset - Well, I'm not sure if we should do this.....maybe we could do something else but thank god, he booked it again. Funny, how we both ended up doing the same thing but never talked about it even doing a Photography session.

But anyway that is the story about both of ending up doing the same thing and how we ended up with three sessions :teeth: .

Thank you so much for your well wishes! :goodvibes I'm so very excited about everything - from what our cake is going to look like to what his reaction will be about his surprise.

Boy, do I feel middle aged! I was 16 when the mall was open, and it had Caldors and Alexanders. What a hoot. I have not been back to CT in three years but I loved the new additions. The old mall even had a supermarket, Stop and Shop. Oh well, thanks for letting me reminicse. Sigh. Enjoy your youth! :) :cool1:

Oh no! I'm sorry I hope I didn't make you feel that way :guilty: . Oooh, sometimes, I just say the wrong things - I'm sorry!

I just think it is really cool that you are from the same area:) and that we both remember the way the mall used to be. I kind of like the old mall but I guess you have to go with the competition.

You will have so much fun! Congrats on the upcoming wedding and can't wait to read all about it and the disneymoon when you return!

I was kidding! Seriously, I am having a midlife crisis but not from anything you wrote! I too think it is so neat when I "meet" someone from near my hometown. I wish I was there right now since it is hurricane season here in good ol' Florida! Keep us informed about your plans, they sound wonderful.

During the trip - I also have a surprise planned for my FI.......more about that later (I have to have something to talk about in the upcoming month).

During our stay I have planned a wonderful suprise for my husband (to be), I have been working on it all summer long. I made a custom basket and it will be put together by Disney Florist - I had gotten little things here and there during the summer that I thought would go along with one of the themes of our dinners (don't want to give away too much). I also had the Florists add a little bit more magic.

It will be delivered to our dinner (hopefully, our table directly). I have already had my reservation updated to let the staff at the dinner to know to expect and will also have my MOH call a couple of days before our dinner.

I would say more and god knows I want to but I think I will wait to post that until we come back from the honeymoon and I will have all kinds of pictures, details, etc. for all of you to read.

Oh - I can't wait :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

If any of you have any more ideas of what could make our honeymoon better, just post your ideas.....I think I have everything covered but I might be missing something.

I'm so excited - I already have stuff packed for our trip.

Oh, thank god - I would have felt terrible! I will keep everyone updated about the plans.

I'm so excited! Although, I have a feeling I might need a vacation from my vacation! :goodvibes
