Just back from HM movie

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it. I was supposed to go to a sneak preview this morning, but the kids schedules got in the way. I can't wait to see this. :)

I just got back too! Boston viewing!

We loved it!

After the movie we saw Cat in the Hat and it STUNK!!! It was horrible. Of course, my 7 year old liked it but she'd rather buy HM when it comes on video. Not Cat in the Hat.

We enjoyed the Grinch but the Cat was bad.

Anyway, HM was really funny and cool. I liked seeing the story unfold. I'm certainly not a HM expert though, having only been on the ride twice but thought it was great!

I hope it does well in the theaters!

Thanks for the review. My son ADORES Eddie Murphy so we're definitely going to see it!

Funny, I just told my son that the amount of promotion for the Cat movie convinced me it would be AWFUL. A good movie doesn't need to promote itself so hard.

It was funny, some spooky parts, and we definitely saw stuff we remembered from the attraction. :)

my kids are 8 and 5 soon to be 6. Is this an ok age to take them? I thought from the ads it looked a little scary.
As for the cat I am sure we will see it but it doesn't look that great...Mike Myers seems like he is trying so hard to be just like the Ginch (jim carey)! Facial expressions and all....at least it seems that way in the ad.

My DD was 7...I did not bring my 4 year old.

There were a couple of scenes that were a bit scary for some kids.

I took my 12 year old son and one of his friends to see it this morning. We all thought it was just ok. It didn't wow us the way POTC did.

I loved the music. During the credits I noticed that the Dapper Dans did a few numbers.

We went to the Boston viewing today. We were hosting a meet for another website. We loved the movie! We will definitely be seeing it again.

Glad to hear you liked HM. I heard bad reviews of Cat in the Hat so I plan to avoid that one. I'll try to catch HM next weekend. I promised a friend I would see Master and Commander again with him tomorrow ( he hasn't seen it yet).

Wait to see it I heard it was great.::yes:: :wave2:

My 7yo was watching the 'making of' featurette on the Disney Channel this morning and said "mom, that's donkey from Shrek"!

We can't wait to see the movie here!

We were at the Philadelphia showing. The theater was nearly empty. Next time, Disney should have the "Philadelphia" sneak preview in the same state as Philadelphia.

DD13 thought that it was good but nowhere near as spectactular as POTC. (9 days and counting down!!!!)

DS11 thought it was cool. He likes Eddie Murphy. He also noted that there was a little bit of cursing in the film (hence the PG rating). Leave it to an 11 YO boy to notice something like that.

DN10 buried her head in my shoulder during two intense scenes. She said that she would recommend it to her friends "but not to any 8 year olds." I'm afraid she'll have nightmares and my SIL won't be speaking to me by Thanksgiving.

I thought that the special effects were awesome and there were so many subtle similarities to the ride. The plot does a fair job of tying into the ride. DD thought that the ending was very predictable. It was good enough to see once. I don't think I'll be buying the DVD.
