Weather was nice except for the few afternoon showers. We played hard and ate well!

Places we ate: Frankie Bones (good early bird specials, food ok)
Marley's (our favorite!), Skillets (yummy french toast), Harolds (thanks to those who suggested/gave us warnings on how to order!), and Truffles cafe.

We did the dolphin tour with Capt. Scott. As always was the highlight of our trip. The kids and DH did crabbing on the Crabber J and had a blast. I took the ferry over to Daufuskie to the spa. Think I would have enjoyed the crabbing more! The kids did the kids night out, Fishing for big Murgie, and some program where they made slime. Surprisingly enough the slime disappeared prior to our trip home?!:rolleyes1

The resort looked great. Cast members were very helpful. It looked like they are in the process of putting new asphalt on the walkways.

glad you had a good time. I can't wait
I'll be there in 14 days.
I have a few questions.

It looked like they are in the process of putting new asphalt on the walkways
I thought they would have been finished by now. Is it loud, hot and smelly?

How do you order at Harolds?

How do you get Capt. Scott? Is he private or through the activities desk?
Do you know if he will let a 4 year old onboard?
(I have been a HHI member since '99 and I have never looked into it.)

What is Crabber J? We never had much luck in catching crabs, except to get eaten alive by mosquitos at the end of the pier. Kids were disappointed each year. However, we still buy the net and the food there each year hoping this will be a better year.

Thanks for your report!!

We ate at Frankie Bones last summer and it was one of the best meals we had! I had the lobster mac & cheese..to die for. All the meals were great and desserts wonderful. This was not early bird so may have been the difference. What's the secret about Harold's? We have been to HHI 6 times and have never heard of this place. We will be there August 12th and might try Harold's. thanks for the infor.

There is only a little area to asphalt. They did not appear to be working on it.

Harolds is very (counter and a few tables for two) diner that right next to a gas station about 1 mi from Disney. They have a sheet that you check off what you want. The food is great. Harold is a bit moody. We did take out because we had 9 in our party. Breakfast was pancakes/eggs/bacon. Lunch was burgers.

The crabber J is a "sport crabbing" cruise. They leave out of Shelter Cove. It cost $20 for adults $15 kids $5 for a two year old. Basically there are some very short fishing poles with chicken necks tied to them. You try to pull up the crabs. It is catch and release. Who ever catches the most crabs gets a t-shirt. We have done this a few times. Always lots of fun.

Scott operates out of Low Country Nature tours. You can sign up for the tour through the recreation department. It cost about $35 (kids under two free). The boat has a max of 6 passangers so it is really personalized to what you want to see. On wed it is member day so the price is 10% off. We have only heard great things about any of the captains, but love Scott. I think you may be able to request him through the recreation dept.

As previous posters noted the slide closes at 5pm. I also think that is a bit early! On Tues nights the slide is open until 8 for the party (fireworks at shelter cove that night)
Have fun. We miss HHI already!

Thanks for the explanations. I will try to check out Marley's and Harrolds. The problem with HH is that there are too many good food choices and too little time!!
