We (DH, DS8, DD5, and me) just returned from a 6 night stay at the Grosvenor via a priceline bid. We paid $28 night with a $50 bonus paid by priceline. I know that this hotel has had very negative reviews, so I wanted to place an updated one. We checked in quite late, and I had requested a room with 2 beds, in the tower, non-smoking. We were given room 720. This turned out to be a smoking room. The smell of smoke was quite noticible in the hall, but the room did not smell at all, and I am extremely sensitive to smoke, so we opted to stay. This was a room at the end of the hall, with a pool view. It contained 2 double beds, and a twin bed set up like a sofa in the corner. This was perfect for us, as my kids don't sleep well in the same bed. We had brought the air matress, but we used the three beds in the room insead. The room had a TV armoire, which had at some time had a mini-bar (it did not work any more), a dresser, and a small fridge. The bathroom had the coffeemaker and hairdryer. The pool area had two heated pools, and a hot tub. We did not use the bus service, or dine in the restaurants, so I can not comment on them. The room was a bit worn, and the towels and linens are a bit thin, but it was a good value for what we paid. Had I spent rack rate ($199), or even half that, I would have been disappointed, but for convenient low priced lodgings, it was more than adequate.

We also just returned from a PL stay at the Grosvenor on 11/28-30. I agree completely with what you said. We were even fortunate enough to have the DTD view. And, we loved being able to put our 2yo dd in her "own" bed (for the 1st time ever!!! ;) ). I would stay there again, but never paying full price for the room! Got to love Priceline!

What category did you bid on, and how far in advance did you bid to get such a great rate at the Grosvenor?

My PL bid was for a 3*, Disney area ONLY, and got it for $25. However, I also got the bonus email sent from PL, so they added $10 to each of my nights. I probably won the bid in Aug/Sept, can't remember off hand.

Are you familiar with biddingfortravel.com? When you go to the state you are interested in, one of the first posts is the Hotels that tend to be offered in each category. It really helps you have a good idea of what you * level you are interested in.

Good luck!
