HI all you disers!!! My dd and I just returned from a fabulous weekend at the GF. Upon checkin we were told we were upgraded to the SugarLoaf conceirge. Wow the building location and the service was simply "GRAND"! I've never relaxed so much at a resort. This definitely became our fav resort. Just curious what does this usually cost...just wondering how much we saved by getting it for free. :cool1:

We also went to the MNSSHP. It was fabulous! The fireworks were unbelievable and the parade - WOW! We'll definitely be going again!!!

Congrats! Glad you had a great trip. Rack rate on SL Concierge for check by 10/4 is $460. For check in after 10/4 is is $535.

We are staying there for our upcoming trip (got a fabulous AAA rate of $391 per night). I'd love to hear more about Sugar Loaf!

Had to wait to post this until I wasn't pea green any more!

Lucky you! I am sure you deserved such a treat and it was made all the more special by being such a surprise!

Tinkfan4ever, oh, what a lovely surprise! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. My family adores the Grand Floridian, and it's always nice to hear that its fan base is growing.

If you ever want to check room pricing at any of the WDW resorts, don't forget to take a look at the official Walt Disney World website. For example, to check room pricing at the Grand Floridian, click here.

Welcome home! Again, I'm glad you and your daughter had a wonderful vacation.

How nice! Glad to hear you had a great trip. I've always wanted to stay there but sadly it's way out of my price range.

We leave tomorow morning for the grand!! Im so excited!! Im sure we will not get upgraded looks like it is going to be crowded this weekend. But on the bright side it looks as if the Grand really does not have any bad views!!

Congrats on the upgrade!!!!

What a nice surprise!
I booked for my parents looking for GF concierge (we are going the same time, and this is where we are staying), unfortunately they only have garden view rooms in the main building. Which is great and all, I just wanted to be near them.
OT-Should I continue and try for the concierge, or hope for an upgrade, maybe having a little more pull because we'd like to be in the same building? We are staying in SugarLoaf.

Christine

Congrats! We had the same good luck two weeks ago when we were upgraded from Garden View to Sugar loaf concierge, and we also had a great time. Where in Sugar Loaf were you? We were in 6309 (3rd floor, overlooking the marina). It was a nice view, and the room was so comfortable. And the service at the GF was amazing.

I also have a new favorite resort!

We got upgraded from a Lagoon View to SugarLoaf Concerige in April 2004. It was nice and we enjoyed the extra food, etc. But, my favorite concerige is still the Poly (but never been upgraded there). Glad you had a wonderful trip -isn't it exciting when they return to ask you if you would like a FREE upgrade!!! :cool1:

That is so nice. DW and I were upgraded to a Lagoon View last Jan. It was such a pleasant surprise.

I am not quite sure what the above means. But there are NO "Garden View" rooms in the Main Building. All rooms in the main building are Concierge, Deluxe Concierge, or Suites. The Garden View rooms are in Buildings 5, 7, 8, or 9. Building 6 is Sugarloaf Concierge.

If you want your parents to be near you, you should continue to try to reserve Sugarloaf Concierge rooms for them. There will not be a free upgrade to this building if there are no rooms to reserve. Upgrades are generally given with the population of Sugarloaf is down and other buildings are quite full. So to guarantee their proximity to your room, you need to be able to make a reservation in that building.
