I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Grand Californian (Oct. 8-12), and I loved every bit of the hotel!!!
On the trip reports board I have a pre-trip report, and a 5-part trip report.
I have the hotel map and went on the tour, please feel free to ask questions! I also ate a lot and will be posting those reports on the restaurant thread (I'm going to cut and paste from the trip report).
