We just got back from our first trip home to BCV. :D
We arrived at 1:30 pm and our studio was ready. My request was top floor, non-handicapped, and non-smoking. Our studio was 527. It was not an epcot view but it was a great location right near the main elevator.
We loved BCV. Dh who was reluctant about joining DVC and in shock when I asked for a BCV addon a week after we closed on our OKW resale said, "I was upset about the BCV addon but not anymore :D ." You could tell by the smile on his face that BCV exceeded his expectations. It is a great location and very peaceful. Dh could not believe how quickly we were at Epcot. We looked at the models and they told us they were 40-45% sold but expected a lot of sales from the New York approval.
Crowds were not bad at all. I had never been in the summer and although it is not my first choice I would go during this time again.
We went over to look at OKW which is where our next trip will be over Thanksgiving. I can't wait to try the two bedroom.
My only disappointment was that I did not get a "welcome home." :(
It was a near perfect trip. We don't have anything to compare it to since this was our first DVC trip but we are already planning to use those addon points for BCV in 2003.:D I would be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We have a year to wait for our first trip home. How was your view. You said not Epcot. Is there any with an Epcot view. I was going to ask for 1. close to BeachClub, 2. Top floor, 3. Epcot view. Is this possible? Also, I wondered how long ago did you make reservations for BCV. Thanks again for sharing, we can't wait!

Thanks so much for your report. I'm anxiously awaiting our paperwork for 170 point purchase sight unseen at BCV. I've already made reservations for next May and look forward to seeing our "home" in December when we head back to AKL for the holidays.

Would you say the walk to MGM is worth it or would the boat be better?

Glad to hear hubby loved the place. We just stayed at the BC (before BCV opened) and hubby really liked the feel of the place too, and like you, felt better about the add on he wasnt 100%thrilled about. :teeth: Whew!

I cant wait for our first trip home there.

Glad to hear your first trip home went well. Sorry that you weren't "Welcomed Home!" It appears to happen a lot! I won't be going home until June and can't wait.

Can you tell us what size accommodations you had and the view? Thanks!

caskar: I believe there are only about 20% with Epcot views. We had a view of the trees/woods. It seems like the rooms with an Epcot view would be farther away from the beach club but someone please correct me if I am wrong. It was very easy for us to get to the beach club from the main elevators. Also, the laundry was very close to the main elevators on the 4th floor.
We made our reservations in April. We did not try the walk from MGM. It was raining on the way so we took the boat. We were going to walk back but our 4 year old ds was getting tired and the boat was right there so we couldn't resist.:D
Laurabearz: How did you like the BC rooms? We are staying 6 nights on points at Thanksgiving and right now have the Fri after Thanksgiving booked at POFQ. I am seriously thinking about changing to the BC since we plan on going to CP that night. Did you request a certain area? Thanks.
