We just returned from our 7th family trip to WDW and first trip as DVC members. Our first few days were in a 2BR at BCV on the fourth floor, and then we moved to a 1BR on the fifth floor. The inlaws were with us for a few days. Both rooms were beautiful, and the Beach Club Resort is fabulous! I am so glad we made the decision to join. I love the location, the atmosphere, and SAB was all that it was cracked up to be. We managed to swim 3 of the 7 days, eat a honkin' piece of meat at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, put a rather large dent in a Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream, watch Illuminations from the balcony, and I even managed a couple of trips to Rose and Crown for an early evening Guiness.

A couple of other highlights from the trip - I signed all of us up for the Family Magic Tour, but didn't tell them what it was, and it was really a lot of fun for the kids, us and the inlaws as well! Truly a great way to start the trip, and a must for anyone with kids. Mine are 10 and 12, and I thought they may be a bit old for this ("Do we have to go on this tour thing?"), but they really got into it! More than once during the tour I found my eyes leaking as I watched them looking for clues, and hopping and skipping through the parks - must have been something in the air...

Philharmagic was wonderful! My DD and DW and inlaws all did Test track for the first time with DS and me - and loved it. DS and I did Mission:Space twice, and could have done it twice a day! We were there this summer and rode it then, and it is one of my favorites now. I am ready to start planning my next trip home for Mardi Gras 2005! Only 11 1/2 months to go...

Do I sense another Samantha Brown fan here? Anyone else have that episode memorized? Did you see Art the Greeter when you were there? When I finally got to meet him in December, I was all giddy/giggly, saying "You're as nice as you were on TV"
He is too!

Glad to hear you had a good trip and BCV met or exceeded your expectations

thanks

Oh, we love Samantha Brown! I've got Tivo recording all the Great Hotels. LOL Even my 3 year old loves to watch the Disney ones.

I've never seen Art the greeter. Does he have certain days or hours he works? I would like to get a pic of him with my girls. LOL

My Mom watched the BCV episode (I'm taking her in June there.) and she had asked me if we met him last time we stayed there.

Yes, I am a Samantha Brown fan. Last summer we planned a last minute trip to AKL with AP discount, and a day or so after I booked it DW taped her AKL episode. After that trip she also managed to tape the Beach Club episode. I love watching it, and can't wait to watch it again now that I've stayed there.

And yes, we did see Art the Greeter several times. Even got our picture taken on Mardi Gras Day with him and us in our beads. He was a pleasure to talk to, and you can't help but walk away with a smile.

Someone mentioned they might do the Family Magic Tour with their 3yo and 6yo kids. I would highly recommend it! They will have a ball, and perhaps even feel a bit like a celebrity at the end as mine did. I taped bits of the tour, interviewing my kids as we went along with them explaining what was happening. We watched part of it last night. I'm so glad I taped it because I had already forgotten little things about the tour. Now we can relive it whenever we need a little Disney fix!

lenshanem... Thanks for the link!

Simba's Mom... Yes, I have that episode memorized also. My husband thinks it is funny that I have to watch if everytime it comes on, along with all the disney episodes even though I have them all on tape.

Art is there during the day time only and he does get 2 days off a week, last year it was Monday and Tuesday. We had gotten a picture of him and my kids all saluting and the next time we went the kids wanted to take him that pic. When we gave it to him he was so sweet about it.
