Hi fellow Canadians!:yay:

Just back form our most FABULOUS vacation EVER!!
4 days in Disney ( with a night at MK for the P&P party!!), and 3 night cruise on the Wonder... wow!Just INCREDIBLE!:woohoo:
Any questions... ask away!

We flew out of Detroit to Orlando
had 2 Cat. 10's (connecting) on the cruise,
and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside.
We booked through Disney, and transfered our resie to Costco ( still waiting on a $250.00 gift card).

We rebooked the cruise on board (to get a great deal and $200 stateroom credit) for March 2009 for another 3 night, but I think I'm going to change it to a 4 day in April... haven't quite decided yet...

Let me know if I can answer any questions!

So do you wish you had booked a seven day cruise?

So Happy for You! Welcome back!!

Ham Ham where do you even come up with your magic pictures?!?!?! :rotfl2:

Unlike magicians I have no problem letting you in on my techniques.

I head to google for an image search. Type in what I think is relevant. In this case I entered "magical pictures" and voila.

From the search I try and find in image that hopefully other folks will appreciate.

Did you like the connecting cabins? We are getting connecting cabins (with the older kids) on the Wonder in December and wonder about hallway noise etc?

Ham, Ham...
Yes!
and if we had more money, we would have booked a 7 day for sure!!!
I feel blessed that we are able to go at all....( stay at home Mom here)and going on a 4 day next year is an extra bonus for us.

Drag n fly...
Connecting cat10's were awesome for us. We saved a little $$$ by not having a window( we were NEVER in our room...and really didn't need one for such a short time on the boat) but we had 2 washrooms, 2 t.v's , and a little " private" time for hubbie and I ...if you know what I mean;)

We booked the connecting Cat 10 secret port hole rooms for our next cruise in May 09.

Did you get any time to relax, I just got off the 7 day Western and we too had the best vacation ever, I was thinking it would be nice to squeeze in a short cruise this summer, but 3 or 4 days must be rushed, but maybe the second time everything is not new and you would not feel so rushed.

Did you have a good day at Castaway Cay? My 5 year old daughter said as she was eating ice cream in a lounge chair in the water "this is heaven" and it is so true, can I live there?

It did feel a liitle rushed ( but again, we were first timers , and finding things took some time) . We did have a lovely dinner at Palo, but no spa treatment this time, and no excursions( didn't really need them).

And for CC, it started to rain at 2:00... actually it DOWNPOURED ( but the kids loved it , as it was so refreshing) so we had a shorter stay then we wanted.I think you usually have to be on the ship at 4:00??
It was glorious sunshine until all of a sudden the sky went black and everyone was asked to leave the beach and in minutes the rain came down . A little scary actually.....

We got on the island first thing in the morning and landed some awesome chairs, had a great lunch at Cookies then back for some more sun, so we were pretty content( not too disapointed... although I 'm sure everyone feels a little sad no matter when you have to leave!).
I would suggest you get to the beach as soon as you arrive in CC, because one thing Disney still can not control is the weather..( but I'm sure they are working on it!)

I'd really like to try a cruise, but I keep worrying about getting seasick. I do have a problem with motion sickness (keeps me off some of the park rides). Did you see people who were seasick? Or is it less likely on the big cruise ships?

I was on my first cruise this month (Disney Wonder, the first week of March). I too get motion sickness easily (in fact, I got queasy feeling the ship sway, while it was still docked @ Port Canaveral....). I took ginger tablets, and it took all my motion problems away, with no side effects. I only had to take them the first day -- no problems after that, even during rough seas.

Also for motion sickenss - if it's bad you can take the not as drowsy dramamine before bed at night and it doesn't make you sleepy during the day - it also lasts 24 hrs.
We thought for sure my fil would be sick last week when we were cruising but he was actually fine.
My sil wore the sea bands and said they helped.

Was it the March6th 3 day. We also had the storm roll into CC. We still really enjoyed the day, there were lots of little boys running around in the rain, any of them yours.

That is so funny... yes three of them were mine!
My oldest kept stoping to take pictures... They actually turned out pretty neat, especially the ones of the Black Pearl....with the rain comming down!

Did you have a good time, and was this your first cruise? For us, it was better then we could have imagined. And your from Barrie, so how bad was the snow when you got home? Our neighbourhood had the highest snowbanks we have seen in a long time! Made the trip that much better!

Yes it was our sons first cruise, (they are 14 and 18). We all really enjoyed it.
We then spent 5 days at Saratoga Springs and when we got home the snowbanks were definitely high. It was fun watching all the little guys enjoying the rain, glad it didn't put a damper on things.

I am also prone to motion sickness but have done three cruises. The first one was the worst, it was a smaller ship(Sun Princess) and bad weather = me in the washroom. The second was a large ship(Grand Princess), but we had great weather with calm seas, so I did alot better but still didn't feel great. I tried the sea bands but they didn't work for me. The dramamine worked great but cost alot on the ship. For our last cruise on the Disney Wonder(Medium ship) I got a perscription for dramamine and filled it at home for a fraction of the cost. I also bought for the flight down some Gravel with ginger and used it again on the way to the port. Now let me tell you, on this cruise the seas were so bad that we couldn't even dock at CC but the weather was still ok. The pools looked like wave pools and I didn't even feel bad. Since then I've only used Gravel for motion sickness.
