Just back from driving from Mass!

We towed our camper down from Mass (won't be doing that again! Towing, I mean ). I'd be happy to answer any questions I can about the trip or the route (home - 2 - 91 - 84 - 684 - 287 - Garden State Pkwy - NJ Tpke - 95 - 4 - WDW)!

Welcome Home! Where did you find the best gas prices? Did you sleep in your camper on the way down or in a hotel? If the latter, where did you stop? Thanks!

You are very brave! I love road trips, but that is a long one. My parents have done it a couple of times but I don't think I will!

I havent made that drive in about 8 years, whew...Did you stop at South of the Border, LOL???

We may be driving next April, Are you closer to 91? Is that why you didnt take 95??

We're driving from Southeastern Mass leaving Wednesday, October 23rd. This is our route :
495 to 90 [MassPike]
90 to 84
84 to 209 (PA)
209 to 33
33 to 22
22 to 476
476 to 95
95 to 4 (FL)
Staying over in Fredericksburg, VA and Savannah, GA

We went 81 (?) last time (2000) and there were way TOO many trucks for a two (or was it three?) lane highway, so we are doing the majority on I95 this time, but bypassing NYC. Had a REALLY bad experience driving through NY coming home from Spring Break years ago O-:E
Also, we took two cars last time (my parents go with us) but this time we are renting a Ford Excursion so we can go in one car.

How was the BSC (Big Scary Truck) situation on I95?
Where did you stop on the way down, or did you drive straight through?
Was there any MAJOR construction going on?
We noticed last trip a gross amount of dead deer on the highway. Did you notice this?
Did people think you were crazy for not flying?
Did you have kids with you? (We have one 4-year old)
How was driving through cities like Wilmington, Richmond, Jacksonville? Is it worth it to detour around?

I've only driven down there once from Mass, and will not consider it again. It just took everything out of me to drive back.

The drive down was just so exciting ..I just cannot put it into words. When it was time to leave I found myself so exhausted I had a tough time just making it out of the state of florida.
