Hi everyone -
We just returned from 10 days at the Doubletree Villas Maingate.
The property itself is fine. Nothing fancy but all was clean and the staff was very friendly. There were a few problems that we encountered (no light bulbs in a few lamps, couldn't get an alarm clock that worked, one door didn't lock properly, the hair dryer broke and one drawer pull came off but they fixed it all promptly (except the alarm clock!)
We had a 3 bedroom villa in the back of the property. It was away from the pool and quiet. Here's the set-up...
Walk in the front door, there's a hallway and immediately to the left is a bedroom w/a queen bed and it's own bathroom. At the end of the hallway is a small living room and a kitchen. There's a counertop that separates the kitchen from the LR and they give you 5 padded sttols (very comfy) to use as chairs. The kitchen had your basic things - stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator and dishwasher. Also had glasses, pots and pans, plates, etc..
The living room was a couch (I think it pulled out), an end table and a TV in an armoire. There was a large glass sliding door that opened onto a small patio with 2 chairs and a table.
Upstairs there was a bedroom with a king-sized bed, tv, 2 nightstands, a small dresser and a large closet. In the hallway was another large closet, a bathroom and another bedroom with a large dresser, a night stand and 2 twin beds.
The setup was ideal for us. I do wish that the LR area was a bit larger and that there was a larger dresser in the king-sized bedroom. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent and it was all kept very clean.
The pool area was small - there was a pool that ranged from 3 feet -6 feet deep and had entrances in 3 places, a hot tub and a kiddie pool that was maybe 12"-18" deep. It was very clean and there were plenty of seats and towels available.
We didn't try the restaurant. There was a mini-golf place right next to the hotel which was GREAT!
It was an easy ride to the parks, airport, walmart, etc...For the $99 we paid I feel we got our money's worth out of it.
I'd be happy to answer any questions.
